Doc-it changes constantly depending on how many have looked for it. It was on my feed at #10, then gone, then #10, then #9. -

I just watched the CNN-Australia clip. I have a feeling this is just the tip of the iceberg.
We should all type "Jehovah's Witnesses" into the Google and Yahoo search engines (and any others) to keep it in the fore-front.

I've had it several times before and take Sudafed at the onset, however, if yours has been going on for days then you need to go to a doctor. I know people that have been hospitalized because of it, don't mess around. -

Nicest thing a JW has ever done?

There is an elder in my hometown congregation that always helps those in needs, too numerous to list. He does it without any hoopla or anyone knowing about it. He's not perfect, drinks too much and cusses too much for an elder but takes to heart the scripture to look after orphans and widows. If all elders were like him, there would probably be a lot more staying in the organization. -

After twenty years of marriage…
by John Aquila ini just got a call from a friend who informed me that a brother whom i've known for a while and is an elder, just found out last night that his wife of 20+ years declared she was gay, and left him..
i still need to confirm but my friend is very reliable and was close friends with the family.
heres the thing, she spent 20+ years with this man, has children with him and now decides she wants to follow her heart.

I am friends with a couple that was married for 30 years before the husband came out. I always felt he was gay as we all grew up together but he never gave into his feelings due to the religion. Once he finally came out, he said that he had known all his life that he was gay. He is now happy living as a gay man and his ex is remarried to someone else. They remain best friends with each other and none are in the religion any longer. -

Two questions for all "apostates"
by sloppyjoe2 indid any of you have a family member or close friend become an apostate first and you shunned them for it only to eventually see the light?
if so, how did your eyes become opened?

Yes, my dad and brother left first. I shunned (sort of) my dad for several years until he almost died and then I justified spending time with him. It wasn't until after he died that I awakened due to the "new light" about the generation. He told me me years prior that someday they would have to change it and sure enough he was right. Domino effect after that.
My brother and I are very close now. He was the one I went to when the blinders were coming off.

Holy Spirit question
by TweetieBird indoes the new world translation ever reference the holy spirit as a "him"?
if not, does it refer to it as an "it"?.
thanks!.

Thanks - even though it only refers to the HS as him once, it goes on to reference it as "he" throughout the remaining verses of that chapter.
"Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth, it is for your benefit that I am going away. For if I do not go away, the helper+ will not come to you; but if I do go, I will send him to you. 8 And when that one comes, he will give the world convincing evidence concerning sin and concerning righteousness and concerning judgment: 9 first concerning sin,+because they are not exercising faith in me;+ 10 then concerning righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will see me no longer; 11 then concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.+12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you are not able to bear them now. 13 However, when that one* comes, the spirit of the truth,+ he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak of his own initiative, but what he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things to come.+ 14 That one will glorify me,+ because he will receive from what is mine and will declare it to you.+ 15 All the things that the Father has are mine.+ That is why I said he receives from what is mine and declares it to you."
The reason I am interested is I don't remember the organization ever referring to the Holy Spirit as a person, but yet Jesus did. How do they explain that one?
