  at the same time, anti-jw activism has caught fire to counterbalance the propaganda.. there are all sorts of activists operating "out there" using books, videos, podcasts, facebook, and incidental un-witnessing to puncture and perforate the false message and counterfeit codswallop of the governing body.. __________.

  The coffee at Starbucks, imho, is awful. I just feel I need to cover my use of Wi-Fi and I'm on an extremely limited budget. I make 1 tall coffee of the day last all day.
  
  The dynamic of MORE THAN ONE JW in a conversation is something which can be problematic depending on how bad they tag-team you.
  
  It's surely a HIVE mind.
  The only thing I can see as Kryptonite is a simple statement of personal experience and NOT doctrine hacking. Child abuse, DF-ing blowback, unfair Elders, and such hit closer to home than the Trinity, Hell, etc.
  
  Actually, there is no ironclad path to successful activism other than avoiding becoming who they EXPECT you to be as an Apostate.
  
  If you're humble, heartfelt, earnest, and helpful it goes a long way.

  DEATH: How have you prepared? Funeral, cremation, donate body to Science?

  well, hell!.

  i had dizzy spells and near-fainting and nausea for a few days, so why wouldn't i start thinking about death, ya know?.

  am i just very lax in my responsibilities in having no plans at all?isn't that irresponsible?

  My dizzy room spins were almost surely the result of drinking only coffee day after day all day without also drinking a lot of water.

  Caffeine causes enuresis (cells expelling water). I noticed I was peeing more than usual, duh.
  
  My electrolytes dissipated and I was like a car battery without water.
  The old brain cells and muscles weren't firing on all cylinders.
  
  Recipe for disaster.
  
  I've resorted to glug-glugging copious decanters of H20 and I'm back on track. That near-miss with the scythe of the Grim Reaper will serve notice on me to not be so clueless in the future.

  well, hell!.

  I had dizzy spells and near-fainting and nausea for a few days, so why wouldn't I start thinking about Death, ya know?

  Am I just very lax in my responsibilities in having NO PLANS at all?
  Isn't that irresponsible? Sure it is.
  

  So, today I made arrangements to donate my body to Science!
  The body is collected and no expenses are incurred at all! Yipee.

  I hate the idea of a funeral. It is morbid and joyless. Did I just say "joyless?"
  
  I think a party/memorial with snacks, drinks, and merriment makes much more sense. I want life celebrated by those who give a chit. No maudlin sobfest for me!
  
  WHAT PLANS, if any, have you made?
  Do you even care?
  If so, are you a control freak about how it's supposed to be?
  
  Funerals are horribly costly and that means the burden falls on your relatives if you make no plans ahead of time.

  Let me hear from you how you're handling (not handling) DEATH!

  About a year and a half ago, I overheard a religious "discussion / debate" between two young men. I tried not to listen until certain JW buzzwords popped out. That's when I knew.
  I had an out-of-body feeling come over me and I got up and walked over to the and introduced myself.
  At that point in their conversation, the young JW fellow had spoken the word, "Apostates. . ."
  I said to them something like this: "I'm sorry to interrupt your private conversation but I couldn't help but overhear you talking about me."
  That got their attention.
  I turned to the Witness and said, "I used to be exactly like you and now I'm an Apostate. But, the things you're saying just are factual--and I felt compelled to say something."
  And off we went from that into an amazing adventure.

  The JW has become, all these months afterward, like a son to me. No, really--we talk at least once or twice a week. He came by Starbucks yesterday all dressed up for door-to-door work. He brought a chess board. We played three games and I informally gave him advice and tips.
  
  It is an amazing relationship which is so rewarding, I can't begin to explain what it does for my interior sense of worth.
  Waking somebody up that young is a kind of Gift from the Universe.
  
  Activism can have unseen trade-offs, long-term effects, and short-term manifestations. The little things we say are like time bombs.
  In a good way:)
  
  But the best by far, creating a relationship with a human being whose entire life will now be improved because of walking over and interrupting a conversation is beyond the telling.
  
  I still can't tell you what came over me to make me butt in--it was something eerie--a truly ineffable feeling of "rightness" which I could not resist. A religious person would say, "I felt the 'calling'." :)
  
  If we all can find a way to give in to the sense of balance involved in intruding into Jehovah's Witnesses' dream world for the sake of their quality of life--we could really make the world (not to get too maudlin about it) a better place, indeed.

  I'd like to hear from the Ex-J-Dub community feedback on who they feel is setting an example of getting the word out with real results.
  
  What makes a book, Podcast, or YouTube video effective in your opinion?
  

  Obviously, there are two main target groups:

  1. Disillusioned wake-ups secretly doing research to answer their disquieting curiosity as to why their suspicions about the Organization are gnawing at them.

  2. DF'd and Faders who are out of the Kingdom Hall and clueless as to what comes next.

  There were no self-effacing jokes in or around the Kingdom Hall although the 'friends' I knew had a good sense of humor.
  Most jokes were recycled Baptist, Rabbi, Priest fare.

  I was surprised to learn yesterday that there is an Ex-JW comedienne.
