by bruh2012 inim sure this is stretching it a bit and i have lived a sheltered life, however paragraph 8 of todays wt study of marriage of the lamb- says the king's (jehovah) daughter is the 144,000 as adopted children of jehovah.
they are to marry gods son jesus the bridegroom.. yes i know they are not blood relatives, but how often do you hear of adopted kids marrying within their adopted family of brothers or sisters?.

if it feels good, looks good, sounds good, tastes good, smells good, or is even moderately enjoyable it is from satan!
and if you feel it, look at it, listen to it, taste it, smell it, or even remotely enjoy it you are going to die at armagedon.. if you are too busy, too stressed, or barely able to make financial ends meet, you must pray more, study more, go out door knocking more, and give more money to the organization.. if you are a brother and you have been snubbed, slighted, ignored, bullied, and otherwise passed over for any "advancement" in spite of "reaching out", it is your fault!

Of course the announcement of the finances was read. SAD weekend started with a $3,000 surplus. That plus funds on deposit with the branch (soon to be confiscated by mother) gave a balance before the SAD weekend of $12,000. Elders resolved to send $3,000 to the branch. Expenses were $2,800. "Donations" in the beggiing boxes was $1,200. So we have a deficit brothers of $1,600. WTF???!!??? We are sure you will be self-sacrificing and give generously, and be blessed.
In the afternoon the Hispanic NY company man gave a personal(?) experience about not showing racial prejudice. He stated that growing up in...INDIANA(USA)...everyone was White Europeans. Then due to economic hard times Black people started moving in from the deep South to obtain work...in the STEEL MILLS...of South CHICAGO! And lo and behold a 13 year old Black girl came to school and was a JW from his hall, and she stopped another boy from from bullying him by telliing the bully to, "leave my brother alone!" Ahhh, ain't that sweet? Maybe I am completely clueless, but growing up I always learned that the steel mills were in Pennslyvania, not Chicago. And the last time I looked at a map Chicago wasn't in INDIANA either! But of course 99% of the useful idiots sat around with tears in their eyes, shit eating grins on their mugs, and bobbing their heads up and down like bobble head dolls.
The best part of the whole day was getting to give generously after the afternoon session was done. I "contributed" several slips of paper with I.O.U. $0.00 printed on one side, and JW.Net on the other in the begger boxes.

The genius of the new donation arrangement
by thedepressedsoul inive given this new arrangement a lot of detailed thought and how greatly it benefits the wt and how much it puts a strain on each congregation.. first, let me explain how the old arrangement worked.. you had 3 donation boxes in each kingdom hall.
one for worldwide work, one for kingdom hall construction and one for congregation contributions.. the congregation contribution box accounted for about 60-75% of all donations.
the world wide work box probably accounted for 20-30% and the kingdom hall construction for about 5% of the contributions.

Where I am the local KH has only about eleven loan payments left. It should be interesting when this comes up for discussion, if it does, and questions are asked about the loan payments now being forced on the poor of the local KH in perpetuity.
I know for a fact there will be at least one hand in the air for a show of hands "against" the resolution. MINE!

Lying isn't really lying IF it is done correctly.
Example: Elder comes to a brother and says, "We have a report that you have been out late at night, partying, getting drunk, smoking, and spending the night with women numerous times. Have you?"
Brother replies either, "I have." or, "I have?"
The second way, with a slight uptick could be used to deflect the question, while at the same time salving his conscience by not actually denying anything, if in fact he had been doing those things.
Easy....

Your Experience with Resigning as an Elder

i'm not planning to fade or stop as one of jehovah's witnesses, just stop serving as an elder.. i have responsibility in the congregation and in circuit, district, rbc, etc.
and i'm completely exhausted.

While I was not an elder, I was "reaching out" at a point in the past.
When I woke up to TTATT and decided that there was way to much nepotism and hypocrisy on the part of the majority of elders and ministerial servants in the congregation I wrote a several page letter detailing what the singular main incident was that opened my eyes. As part of that letter I informed the BOE that I would no longer be "reaching out". The following words are taken directly from my filed copy of that letter, and perhaps they will be of some measure of help.
"In view of this apparent ongoing situation, and in light of a number of personal observations voiced to me by some of the elders I find it necessary to respectfully request that I no longer be assigned, and inform you that I will not accept for the time being, any assignments customarily reserved for brothers only."
Since that time, while I still attend meetings for the sake of family members, I have quit having literal headaches, upset stomach, shakes, sweats etc. prior to and after meetings. It has been a wonderful benefit to my emotional and physical health to have quit running on the hamster wheel.

Exactly the same thing where I am. Evidently a pre-approved, cookie-cutter outline saying what they were told to say.
The only exception was the illustration. The guy here used car insurance. Because someone else wrecks their car, your rates along with everyone else's go up to a cost you can no longer afford. Along comes some rich person and says they will pay your rates for the rest of your life. Oh happy,happy, joy, joy!
Some of the comments I heard later at the post memorial party were:
1. I didn't understand some of the new talk. It was over my head, but I just let it go in one ear and out the other.
2. Brother ------ sure wasn't on his game tonight. He stumbled over a lot of the basics in the talk.
3. This memorial was sure different. What happened?
One of my personal memorial musings is that the 144,000 literal number will be tossed sooner or later. The "little flock" will be just the hand chosen appostles, the "other sheep" will be the annointed of an undetermined number, and the "great crowd" will be those believed to be earthly live forever's.

Your account reminds me of what happened to me some fifteen years ago, or so.
I was at the time married to a woman who was not a jw. I was "marked" and actively shunned by most in the congregation. A particular eldurr seemed to take great pleasure in openly shunning me, unless my wife and her nine year old daughter were with me at a meeting. Then, and only then, he would make a big show of walking pompously from one side of the kingdom hall to the other, smile that Chesire cat smile, ask me, "How are you my brother?" and totally ignore my wife and daughter. Even if they would at first try to talk to him he would treat them like shit! It was so obvious my daughter asked me, "Why does that man HATE us so bad?"
Hypocrites is what they are!

Congregation Contributions
by nolongerconfused indo you guys remember when the congregation's monthly contribution report was read out loud in the service meeting?
obviously, they don't do that anymore... does anyone here know why exactly they stopped reading the report publicly?.

If they're not doing it in your KH then the accountant is not doing his job but neither is the PO.
And that is the SOP (standard operatiing procedure) for nearly every congregations "appointed" men. Window washers and busboys are for the most part incompetents who cannot perform any task properly without another person telling them what to do, how to do it, and when to do it at every step of the way. They cannot form a complete thought, much less carry ot out on their own initiative.
