I heard this BS story years ago. It was supposedly in Japan, and her father was in the Japanese mafia (Yakuza [sp.]) All reasearch I did then indicates that it was a pure, unadulterated, BS story. Like all the rest of the "experiences".

new assembly experience... what do you reckon to this one?
by purrpurr inok so aparently there was this young girl who wanted to study with the jw's because she loved the bible so much.
she asked her fathers permission but he refused, after much nagging though he said she could have a study if she was prepared to have one of her fingers chopped off.
he thought the is would stop her but she was willing so he got a knife and cut off one of her fingers... a little while later she wanted to attend the meetings and he said no and again when nagged said she could attend meetings if she had another finger chopped off so she agreed and he chopped off a second finger.

The Elders help
by punkofnice ina young jw i used to know (nice person), said within earshot to a non df'd ex jw he knew that his "..parents are up and down in the relationship and the elders(tm) are going to help.".
the non df'd ex jw said to me that he considered that after the elders(tm) get involved his parents were bound to split up.
the non df'd ex jw also commented: "what do elders know?

Elders advice for couples:
Pray more, study more, attend more meetings, go out in service more, together.
But together only means riding to the kingdum hall together. Once you are there you will be segregated. Men in one group, women in another. After all, everyone knows that group sex is going to happen if men and women are in a car group together!

New Article on BEARDS and Attire of Jehovah's Witnesses
by jwfacts ini have had requests to add an article about beards and jehovah's witnesses.
it is interesting that there is virtually no statement that says a witness cannot have a beard, yet universally they do not have beards.
i have scoured quotes from all the threads on jwn, all references to beard on the cd watchtower library, and copies of elders letters that i have.

I said "no, I don't see any moustaches either, does that mean they're banned as well?"
In the cong. where I sometimes show up every last brother shaved their moustaches off immediately after the first CO visit following this pamphlet being posted. One of the holier-than-thou eldurrs had the nerve to come up and ask me, "When are you going to pluck your Malboro man moustache?'
I said, "As soon as you go 'pluck' yourself!" The dope said he'd shaved his off. Sorry SOB didn't get it!

I had a fellow from the local KH hand me a jw.org pin, like he had really done something great. I looked at it, and the one he was proudly sporting on his lapel, and handed it back saying, "Thanks, but no thanks! If I wish to wear a lapel pin showing christianity I will wear a cross!"
He prompptly ran to the closest eldurr and told him what I had said. What a huh-roon! Of course the eldurr just looked at me and shook his head. They have pretty well given up on me, thank goodness!
Actually as a working cowboy, I would like to get a pin of a calf. Gold colored naturally!

I'm tired of the org misquoting scholars to support there heretical NWT
by yogosans14 inday after day jws are constantly fighting with me over the internet that the nwt is the most accurate translation and then they prove it by quoting scholars from the watchtower magazines.
they tell me i'm biased and there rendering of john 1:1 as "a god" is approved by scholars but i have researched there so called "supporters" and i have found they have tooken what they said out of context to twist the scriptures to there liking.. .
dr. julius r. mantey (who is even recognized by the watchtower as a greek scholar since they quote his book on page 1158 of their kingdom interlinear translation): calls the watchtower translation of john 1:1 "a grossly misleading translation.

The circus oversneer was in the area recently and had this to say about the NWT.
"We did not translate it to fit our beliefs, as some claim, but rather molded our beliefs to fit what the Bible actually says."
Then he proceeded to use Romans 13:1 as proof. He claimed that it was only because of the NWT that JW's came to the correct understanding that the "superior authorities" were governments and not Jehovah and Jesus. Yet he forgot to mention that a simple search of their own WT library CD shows that prior to 1929, long before any NWT, they believed those authorities were in fact the governments. For well over twenty years they preached condamnation of other religions for believing the same teaching they initially believed, and then suddenly reverted back to their original interpretation in early sixties. What a muh-roon!

One of the "super" eldurrs I know and his wife servant claim to be going. I heard that it will cost them ONLY $1,000.00 (US) each. And as for "safety" they were informed in their acceptance letter that when asked by any customs agents what the purpose of their trip is they are to lie and say, "We are just tourists on vacation.", otherwise they will likley be denied entry.
So much for telling the truth at all times, and couldn't that money be better used for the help of their local brudders who are struggling to put food on the table?

The Memorial for 2016 will be Wednesday, March 23, 2016
"Evidently" the Big A isn't going to happen before there are at least TWO more memorials. They got it wrong again when it was implied that 2014 may be the last one.

Worker falls from KH roof during quick build
by piztjw ini heard through the grapevine that one of the slave laborers was walking backwards on the roof of the falls city, nebraska quick build this weekend and fell of the roof.
i heard he landed on his back and head and sustained some pretty serious injuries.. anyone in that area that might provide more information?
extent of injury?

I just heard again through the "grapevine" that the worker landed on his feet, then his butt, then elbows, back and head. I heard one of the onlookers thought he had been killed, but "thankfully after several minutes his eyes started to move, and he asked,'where am I?' " Must have been HS cushioned his fall?
He supposedly suffered a crushed elbow, which will require surgery. Next word was that he is actually "okay". I was also informed that he was specifically told not to get close to the edge, so it is now going to be his fault. Blame the victim y'know!
I wonder how much financial burden this guy will incur? He is supposed to be only 22, so I am sure he doesn't have much for medical insurance, and I would imagine that given the impressive show of "love" by the RBC workers slaves in getting him a get well card the bOrg will not be of any help whatsoever!

A question for my friends in the USA about cowboys.
by punkofnice inas a kid growing up in the uk we used to play 'cowboys and indians' and watch high chaparal and bonanza along with other cowboy films.
later, in the 70's kung fu would be shown with caine going through the 'old west'.
we even had a chocolate bar that was marketed with a 'cowboy' theme...milky bar.. as far as i know the 'wild west' as shown on tvdidn't actually exist.. are there people that believe it did?.

A picture paints a thousand words, but ...
by Simon inwhile i appreciate people like to post funny pictures from time to time i think it's sometimes gotten a little out of hand and has had a detrimental effect on some of the topics.
while many of the pictures are humerous this isn't intended to be a meme site and there's a tendency for pictures to keep pushing the line and becoming more crude, gross or shocking.. i'd like to request people think twice before posting things like this.
i'm not saying they are outright banned but please think twice before posting them - do they really futher the discussion any or do they detract from the conversation?.

I noticed again in this thread how some still display the JW spirit.
Someone does something they personally don't like and they get all pissy and throw a three year-old style tantrum and say they are going to take their toys and go home and pout.
Please folks, if you want to do thing YOUR way start your own site, otherwise accept the site owners decisions.
