by RunningMan ini thought this was a little odd, so i did some calculations to see if my observations were correct.. last year, there were 107,218 jws in canada.
they reported 18,544,473 hours of field service.
this activity resulted in 2,030 new baptisms.

I used that arguement with my JW dad before I ever decided to leave the Borg. I had been preaching for 30 yrs and hadn't converted anyone. What a waste of time. I thought: "Maybe I'm not the best person for this job"

WOW! How much time did that post take you? Sorry I have to admit I didn't take the time to read the whole thing but after 3 pages I started getting Deja Vu. I think you made a great point.....but I don't agree with it. Sorry. I don't agree that those who stay in are causing any harm or responsible for the actions of the whole body of elders. No more than a US spy working in Pakistan as a government agent would be responsible for the actions of the Pakistani Government.
Also, That much effort put into just proving your side of an arguement seems a little excessive but that's just my opinion. Please take that only as friendly free advice. You know what they say about free advice...........You get what you pay for.

Resignation - not that it matters at all, but ....
by TheOldHippie ini just wanted those kind-hearted, those gentle, those friendly ones of you to know that i wrote my letter of resignation as an elder yesterday, after having served in that capasity for 24 years.. those wishing to call me or any society "bastard", "sucker", "braindead" or anything, as they have before, i would ask please to refrain from that.
other comments would be welcome.. somehow, it is the armstrong quote about "one small step for man, one giant leap for humankind" (approximately) the other way around, "one giant leap for (a) man, one hardly noticeable step for humankind".. ok, that was that.

John, Thanks for the effort you put into this press release. I appreciate the fact that you are actually doing something proactive while still sounding objective. Of course it needs a little editing but then that's what editors are for. Right? :)
