I'm sorry if I sounded agitated earlier. That wasn't my intention. I do like to debate the serious subjects and I like to examine my own views in the process. I appreciate your views and they do have validity. I just draw different conclusions.
That being said:
Actually it is a fact that some high level Iraqis have asked for help to rid the country of Saddam. They have written books and spoken publicly about the dangers of allowing the dictator to stay in power.

I have to call you on that one. If your daughter's life is of even a little more value then it only stands to reason that your friend's life is worth just a little bit less. You neighbor's life just a little less. Your fellow countryman regardless of where he lives has got to, simply by association, be worth a little more than someone from another country. If you stood 2 strangers side by side, one american and one chinese, and told to choose which one you wanted to live and you could only choose one......... That would be a tough decision, no doubt, but everything else being equal, the scales would be tipped by the one who had association with you. That's a simple fact of human nature. That's why the LA Clippers have fans.

Good point. I have always disagreed with the US policy of Sanctions. The idea is that the people will get pissed at their own government because of the sanctions and overthrow it. It worked in the cold war but then that was a country that has never tolerated failing government regimes. It hasn't worked in Cuba and it's been going on for 50 yrs. I don't think it shows and ulterior motive ...........just a stupid policy.

In my opinion, education is the enemy of the "society". As much as they try, they cannot control the ability of the individual to educate himself. Every day they are having to loosen the grip of restrictions in order to prevent outright revolt or division. It's now "ok" for kids to go to college. This generation that takes the step to educate themselves will be the one that stops the growth of the "Organization". Without the specific time period for armageddon many more will decide to plan for the future by getting and education. This is an exciting time for us.

some of the Kurds and Shiites are happy to see the end of Saddams government, they still do not want a foreign power putting in leaders that will dictate to them. They want to be able to choose there own form of government
They want to be able to choose their own government? Well then, maybe they should have gotten rid of the evil man. Did they get a chance to choose their own form of government when Saddam was elected? Since we were the ones to make the sacrifices and take the initiative then we should have a say in what kind of government gets set up there. Sounds reasonable to me.

Actually Trauma Hound, What we would do and what we did do 200 years ago was get rid of the oppressor ourselves. We didn't need anyone else to come liberate us like the Iraqis do. We do not tolerate dictators in our country. We fight people who try to kill our families. The worse it gets the more we fight. These people have already shown that they don't have what it takes to get rid of a man they don't want. They are too afraid to make the sacrifices. Oh yeah, they're ready to run a suicide mission but they aren't willing to risk the death of their loved ones for the freedom of their countrymen. Some Iraqis do see the Coalition as an invading enemy. Yeah......And..... Some here in the US beleive there was no holocaust.
What you will find, when the dust clears, is a secretly grateful yet spineless population.
