  many outside are now aware of the scam.... the brother announces a "deficit" at the assemblies.

  what they dont announce is that the so called expenses include a predetermined donation to the branch.

  meaning, the assembly hall is paid for so the basic expenses should be utilities, maybe some speaker expenses and a 52nd share of property taxes and the like.... however the "deficit" always seems to run into the thousands with "expenses incured" totaling 7-10k.

  Interesting find hosier, the problem is the ooerating costs aren't itemized therefore its impossible to determine what is or is not factored in there, although 2,500 is what i would have guessed as a ballpark

  As a side note blondie, this isnt a rainy day find for the circuit building, which wouldnt offend me either, its the built in 'donation' to mother presented as an operating expense. It's blatant fraud... Unfortunatly it wont wake anyone whos not already wondering

Instead of simply donating to the world wide work as is done at the KH, at circuit events its a preset manditory amount that is rolled into the "expenses incured with the program"! Deceitful is a kind description.....

  the minor update...? Previously the US branch office was asking a little over 4$ per attendie, in US dollar. I recently found out the new expected contribution: a little over 7$ per attendie. A huge increase. It puts in perspective the reduction of assemblies from two days to one. Its yet another money grab! They cut in half the number of days a circuit or group of congregations uses the hall but double the expected contribution. Thus, the hall is used more and donated for more. Sons of b****s

  the congregation secretary should arrange for this letter to be retained in the congregation permanent file of policy letters.

  he may also wish to update the congregation copy of the index to lettersfor bodies of elders (s-22) at this time as well.

  @oub, yes the term is used in wt articles, however when the actual action is announced the term "disfellowshipped" is forbidden. The announcment, as directed in the OD book, is simply "so and so is no longer a jw".

  GC, i find your POV both interesting and reasonable... From a human perspective. Yes bad influances should be kept out of a group... From a human perspective. Lepords dont easily change spots and we shouldnt be quick to believe someone has changed... From a human perspective.

  What is most telling is that you didnt cite one single scripture to support your personal POV. Id be curious to know where jesus taught something that backups your view..... Bearing in mind I agree, btw, that bad eggs need to go just from a practicle and safty aspect.

  Gc, as an current elder I see the realities of DF'ing people. Its not always fair. Its often based on perceptions of past actions and attitudes, not whatever 'sin' brought you in the back room to begin with. Consider, my good man..... The process is so infair and so flawed, the term "disfellowshipped" isnt even allowed to used from the platform anymore. How "fair" and righeous can it be if we wont even use the word anymore?
