I will have a look at the library in the Spanish Congs in our hall and see if there's a copy that I can borrow and scan.

me: hey i've got the down load to the movie, and that theme song has a striking resemblance to that song you just played.

Released today? That was released back in October of last year! It is an excellent report and is an official book (as it has an ISBN number as well). Well worth taking the time to read through. I read it and underlined it during several meetings at the KH. If it's one thing I've learned from the WTS, it's to underline well!!! :)
They ARC first released a preliminary report after the case, after which the WTS presented their rebuttal basically going against everything Geoff Jackson said at the hearing.
Then a few months back the ARC presented their final report taking into account the WTS rebuttal and this is what has provoked another hearing, due to start a week on Monday.
Here are the official links just in case you want to share them with an active JW who is freaked out by "apostate" info so they should accept this as coming from an official government legal site. The files are in PDF format.

HERE IS THE OFFICIAL SITE FOR THE NEXT HEARING ON MONDAY 6TH MARCH 2017:

JW.ORG Now requires personal address
by AverageJoe1 inlogging on to the user area access today, there appeared a message saying that they now require a postal and physical home address to attach to your profile, with a note saying that the branch may change the details as they see fit.
this raises several questions in my mind:.
why would they need to have your physical address on file?.

Logging on to the user area access today, there appeared a message saying that they now require a postal and physical home address to attach to your profile, with a note saying that the Branch may change the details as they see fit. This raises several questions in my mind:
- Why would they need to have your physical address on file?
- Why would they change your address?
- Are they using this as a way to keep tabs on where individual JWs live?
- Does this not go against the Data Protection Act (as I never recall being presented with their privacy policy and being asked to accept it?
Anyone else that's still active and noticed this? Any ideas as to why they want this info?

Does the Watchtower Bible Society own stocks. Nad are those stock related to military business?
by CitizenofEarth inhello.. i am a young 18 year old danish guy, who is a baptized jw.
since one year ago i have been maturing gradually and asking questions about many things, not only about jw stuff(which has caused some problems.
but nothing i couldnt handle with a bit of social skill).

They own stocks in Apple, hence all the photos of Apple products in their publications and the reason the JW Library apps works better on iOS.
I remember in one WT article that was available to download, they forgot to edit out the Apple logo (w14 15/4 page 19). I thought that was amusing as the photo looked like the sister was worshipping her Mac instead of missing her son!
Here you go (I can only find the edited one):

Obviously there is nothing as safe as your own blood or non-blood alternatives in surgery where that's an option so I would go for those options, even having my own blood stored pre-op; after all it is mine and it hasn't been "poured out on the ground" as the WTS would have us believe, but rather has been siphoned into storage!
Then there's cases like Leucemia where nothing short of a complete transplant would be needed to try and safe your life. I'd go for it in that case (even if it wasn't guaranteed to safe my life.)

That's why I don't contribute anymore, ever since watching the ARC trial in 2015. Looking forward to the new one next month.

I wonder how many JWs understand that their "worldwide work" contributions are going to settle child abuse lawsuits?
I wonder how many JWs understand how many dozens of these cases have been thusly settled, and how many dozens or hundreds more such cases are in the pipeline?

I was pulled aside a couple of months ago by two fellow elders for talking to a disfellowshipped friend of mine at the hall in the second school (we still haven't renamed it even though 'the school' no longer exists) with another elder.
Aside from my calling them Pharisees meddling in other people's business, I suggested they read this Watchtower article: w74 1st August pp. 466-473 Maintaining a Balanced Viewpoint Toward Disfellowshipped Ones. It's gold dust when it comes to reasoning with any judgmental JW over the shunning issue, especially an elder.
Par. 5: Congregational elders, as well as individual members of a congregation, therefore, ought to guard against developing an attitude approaching that which some Jewish rabbinical writers fomented toward Gentiles in viewing them as virtual enemies. It is right to hate the wrong committed by the disfellowshipped one, but it is not right to hate the person nor is it right to treat such ones in an inhumane way.
Par. 9: What, then, if a congregation elder were to meet up with a person who had been disfellowshipped, perhaps in the elder’s daily routine, on the street, in his secular work or similar activity? ... but not all who slip into a sinful way become ‘deceivers and antichrists.’ So, if that one is not of that class, would not Jehovah God’s own example allow for the elder to speak words exhorting the disfellowshipped one to seek to regain a good standing with God? (my thoughts: if it's ok for an elder then why not for anyone else? After all, we are all supposed to be the same.)
Par. 10: We may note, too, that at 1 Corinthians 5:11 the apostle warns against mixing in company with one who “is” a fornicator or practiser of some other kind of serious wrongdoing. What, however, of the one who has been disfellowshipped for being that kind of person but who thereafter, either at an early point or at a later point in time, gives consistent evidence of discontinuing such wrong practice, stopping it? Can it be said that he or she still “is” a fornicator or whatever type of wrongdoer such a one was that caused him or her to be as “leaven” toward the congregation?
Par. 21: As to disfellowshipped family members (not minor sons or daughters) living outside the home, each family must decide to what extent they will have association with such ones. This is not something that the congregational elders can decide for them. What the elders are concerned with is that “leaven” is not reintroduced into the congregation through spiritual fellowshipping with those who had to be removed as such “leaven.” Thus, if a disfellowshipped parent goes to visit a son or daughter or to see grandchildren and is allowed to enter the Christian home, this is not the concern of the elders. Such a one has a natural right to visit his blood relatives and his offspring. Similarly, when sons or daughters render honour to a parent, though disfellowshipped, by calling to see how such a one’s physical health is or what needs he or she may have, this act in itself is not a spiritual fellowshipping.
I got the rebuttal that this is "old information" and we have updated procedures since then so I replied, "well how come it has not been edited out of the WT Library then? Also I find this much more in harmony with how Jesús treated non-Christians, even notorious sinners, rather than the attitude you two are displaying!" I had no further bother.
The WTS has taken disfellowshipping way too far and goes against even their own original thoughts when they criticised the Catholics back in the 50s for doing the very same thing. As Angus Stewart said when questioning Geoff Jackson in the ARC trial two years ago, 'there is no graceful way to leave the Jehovah's Witnesses'!
I hope that WT article helps some of you. -

I remember David Algar very well. He had an amazing memory for names. He used to be our CO when I was a lad. I saw him 20 years later and he still remembered my name!
My favourite was Brent Smith; a very funny Yorkshireman who was fond of a practical joke or two and gave a fantastic rendition of Jesús' parable of the man who sold everything for a pearl of high value... "even his three-speed donkey he had in the garage!"
Richard Gillam was a giant and drove like a madman (something that greatly impressed me as a young man in my twenties, especially when he did a handbreak turn in the middle of a busy high street.)
Assemblies are definitely not the same nowadays. They were so much fun in the 70s/80s to be able to explore the convention footy grounds even as young kids: Sheffield Wednesday, Notts Forest & County, Dudley Assembly Hall (with sneaky trips across the road to the zoo.)
Nothing beat a bacon buttie and coffee first thing after arriving when you'd been up since 6am to catch the bus.
