  the tobacco industry held in thrall millions of addicted smokers for decades with an almost endless litany of false claims reinforced by propaganda and bad science.it is informative and eye-opening to examine this brilliant but insidious strategy.1.

  exploiting controversy the tobacco team focused on "conflicts of interest" to create a distraction and exploit mistrust so nicotine addicts own confirmation bias would work in their favor.

  this strategy of producing scientific uncertainty undercut public health efforts and regulatory interventions designed to reduce the harms of smoking.the watchtower easily did the same thing by exploiting the confusing doctrine of the trinity and pointing to the corrupt history of the catholic church.

  This year’s convention

  two things i noted at this year’s rc.

  1) the new teaching with respect to matthew 25:45 which was applied equally to the rank & file jw.

  this teaching is also found in the watchtower study for last sunday.. then he will answer them, saying: ‘truly i say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of these least ones, you did not do it to me.. 2) the new armageddon video which was a big shift.

  Hi LastMan. No I haven’t attended yet. We have the thrill of our assembly still to come, though I will probably spend most of the sessions out about town with fellow PIMOs.

  Thank goodness for Internet. On the few instances I actually have to show my face there, I can at least pass the time productively surfing the Net!

  The reason for my doubt also is that the GB are so interested in the organisation revolving around them that they would never willingly relinquish a scripture that they had previously misapplied to themselves, especially if that meant giving prominence to the R&F.

  Look how they previously removed the title of "faithful & discreet slave" from all anointed ones to saying it just means the GB.

  I very much doubt what the OP said about Matthew 25:45 as I've just done a search for that scripture in the official outlines and it is not even mentioned once!

  Please tell us the title of the talk this was supposedly mentioned in.

  The "Whole World" was flooded??

  so, jehovah's witnesses and many other biblical literalists think that the "whole world" was flooded during noahs day.. they take the "accounts" in genesis literally.

  so that means that areas as far away as australia, russia, argentina, greenland, antarctica were all visited by noah and his family to gather animals and preach before it happened right??

  they then took everything back to the middle east to board the ark...uh huh.... yet, the same expression in the bible for the "whole world" is also used in the account about the "worldwide famine" in josephs day!

  something i found on facebook..... a bit of interesting history reading .... enjoy ...they used to use urine to tan animal skins, so families used to all pee in a pot & then once a day it was taken & sold to the tannery.......if you had to do this to survive you were "piss poor".

  but worse than that were the really poor folk who couldn't even afford to buy a pot......they "didn't have a pot to piss in" & were the lowest of the low.

  the next time you are washing your hands and complain because the water temperature isn't just how you like it, think about how things used to be.
