The USA is one of the best countries in the world to live in.

Really? No National health Service, a President who's a joke, a nation who puts their right to own guns over the lives of countless children and adults getting killed in gun crimes, infamous racist police force, tax crimes treated worse than crimes against humanity, just to name a few.

I can think of plenty of other countries that I'd much rather live in, Scotland for example and it has a cracking national anthem that doubles as a pub folk song as well!

Was there really a specific request for money in this week's meeting?

i have seen a few comments about this week's meeting.. was there actually a part that specified an actual per-publisher amount that should be donated regularly?.

can this be confirmed please?.

i truly cant believe just how brazen the society seems to be getting - and how desperate they are!.

Special Talks now via video

tired of listening to your local elders giving the "special" talk ever year after the memorial?

well don't worry, as of next year we will be spicing things up for your enjoyment.. not only will we be having the talk before the memorial (i know, wild huh), but we will be treating you to the talk via video starring our famous speakers from bethel so you can see how a talk should be given (after all bethel does boast the best speakers in any country, right?!).

here's a copy of the text from our latest letter as i'm sure that with so much excitement you won't believe it at first!.

How do the foreign language Congregations find people to call on?

ok. i had a fascinating conversation with one of my polish colleagues at work.

she knows i'm a jdub and an activist as have filled her in warts and all about watchtower.. she came up to me today explaining how a couple of polish witnesses came to her door.

she was curious as to how they knew to call on her door knowing she was polish.

When I was in a foreign-language cong back in the UK, we used to go through the phone book and look for the foreign surnames that sounded as if they could be speakers of that language.

Do BT still do a hard copy telephone book and pop it on your doorstep along with the Yellow pages?

As a side point, here in Spain, loads of the JWs make a big deal about being an English SPEAKING congregation and NOT an English congregation, to which I reply "well it's registered as an English congregation with Bethel and not English speaking so take it up with them!" Maybe it's just a non-Brit complex a lot of them have here in the English congs.

Yes. Here in Spain it was 2€ each. It was so ironic going on for half an hour about how Russell emphasised we never beg for money then we get a 10 minute letter doing precisely that!

It won't make a jot of difference though as even the PIMIs will forget what they agreed to after a few weeks.

Most of our speakers here in Spain that appear on the Streaming are DIRE! Nice to see a fellow PIMO on here, by the way.
