No changes in the elder's book as of yet, Gorby.
As Smiddy said, it was in a Broadcasting episode a couple of months back that the GB will never change their "two witness" policy.
for research i want to verify this:.
- has the latest version of the elder book (recent) a new text about child abuse and put aside the 2 witness rule in these cases?.
need to clarify.. g..

so i've been watching the show and really enjoying it.
great to see a trek tv series finally get a reasonable budget.
beautiful costumes, sets, cinematography, action pieces, etc.. really my only complaints are how cg all the ships look and there's a fair bit of stiff dialog from time to time.. what do you guys think of the show?.
@Nancy Drew
I’ve watched 2 episodes of Counterpart now and it looks promising.
@Lisa Rose
Yes, I know the one you mean and I loved it.
the last post about the violin for sale got me to looking at their ebay account which says it's based in wallkill.
they've got over 200 items for sale, most obsolete electronics that are grossly overpriced.
among them are used hard drives, like this one:.
That’s ridiculously expensive for a 300Gb hard drive! Who would buy a second hand one anyway? For few Euros more you can buy a 1Tb one with 2 years guarantee on Amazon.
Those chaps at Warwick really ARE deluded!
2 boe's arrived.. .

@Sparrowdown
Of course you are. Why do you say that? Just because people like me don’t think much of it, doesn’t mean we can’t understand the people that do. Look at @finallysomepride ‘s comments to me. Each to his own.
@Nancy Drew
I love The Orville. Apart from the weird name for a ship (older folks from the UK will be thinking of a green duck who thinks he can’t fly, accompanied by a man called Keith Harris), I thought the stories just got better and better as they got the balance of humour and drama sorted. It has a Star Trek feel to it, even some of the background music in it.

@finallysomepride
Bat Out Of Hell - great album choice! Didn't Jim do an album with Bonnie Tyler too?
later I obtained those recordings I had given up
I can relate to that as I've done the same. Just last week I acquired an album by KISS, albeit a "best of" as I had always been told they were demonic. Then I heard a track that I didn't realise was by them, Googled a bit and then realised that they were just another of many groups labelled falsely (by JWs and other self-righteous religions) as Devil worshippers.
so i've been watching the show and really enjoying it.

Take offense at a fellow Star Trek fan? NEVER! That's the great thing about sci-fi fans: such broad tastes.
As for the swearing, I was referring to Star Trek itself. Although I'm not a fan of the "f" word in entertainment, I appreciate that it adds realism in places. I just didn't expect it in Star Trek.
Are you a Father Ted fan by the way? ("Feck, arse, girls, drink"!) That's Father Dougal in my Avatar. Rather apt really as most JWs are very confused about life in general AND their own beliefs! ha ha
I thought the sets on STC were very true to the original and it was a nice touch for them to film in 4:3 format like the original. If CBS got on board I'm sure it would be an amazing mainstream production.
Thanks for the feedback mate. LLAP
PS:
Stop looking for them, then you might enjoy it, look forward, honor the past
OK. I'll give it another go!

@WTWizard
do they always throw away a whole album because of one song they don't like?
My mum made me throw out my MJ "Thriller" album when she found out what that song was about. Notice how she made ME throw it out (with her watching too) instead of her doing it, saying that Jehovah would be pleased with me (I doubt it as God supposedly can read our hearts and mind, and I can assure you that good thoughts were NOT in my mind at that moment). It went into the dustbin whole so I've always hoped that one of the dustbin men saw it and rescued it!
By the way, I had no idea did that "Up, Up & Away" song. I'll look for their album now. I'm always on the lookout to expand my music collection and tastes. Thanks!
acts 2:38 is easy to understand and easy to follow.
there are no words that are vague and need interpretation.
“do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of jehovah’s witnesses in association with god’s spirit-directed organization?”.
@Steve2
C'mon JW organization, get real: I refuse to believe that people still use cameras!
Of course they do! Cameras take way better photos. If you want a quick snap shot then your mobile is fine but then many older ones don't know how to work a smartphone so they use cameras. i see it all the time.

Total crap and nothing like Star Trek at all! Roddenberry would be turning in his grave!
There are so many things wrong with it:
If you watch "Discovery" as a separate entity, having nothing to do with with the Star Trek universe except the name, then it's watchable if there's nothing else on, in my opinion.
For a decent Star Trek series (one that holds with Roddenberry's ideals) then I'd recommend "Star Trek Continues". It stars James Doohan's son as Scotty and also includes some guest stars from the original series. Only 11 episodes but even Roddenberry's son said that his dad would have classed it as canon:
