Barber’s Adagio For Strings. Some great bass in there too. Only 8 minutes long.

Idolatry at it’s best. How is this any different from the old WT logo that the GB insisted be removed from all KHs many years back?
Obviously God’s spirit doesn’t stretch to protecting logos so they have to spend hard earned cash and valuable preaching time filing trademark requests!

What’s the big deal with birthday cake?
by Addison0998 inhow strict were the jehovah’s witnesses you knew about birthday cake?
i knew a girl who saw a few pieces of cake in the break room at her work, and ate a peice, then found out later that it was left over birthday cake.
she felt so guilty and was scared about a bad impression she left on her work mates.

What amazes me is how most JW will send a congrats card when a baby is born (yes, to celebrate the day of its birth) but then then refuse to celebrate every other consecutive birthday.
Plus some even have baby showers. If that’s not “bringing undue attention to / glorifying the individual” (or whatever the official GB phrase is for not celebrating birthdays) then I don’t know what is.

Elder Is Dodgy Used Car Salesman
by pale.emperor injust thought i'd relate this story for any lurkers out there.. here in the north west of england there's an elder called george ashton.
the ashton's are a big family, most of the men are appointed as elders or at least min servants.
george owns a used car dealership and almost all jws in liverpool looking for a car have heard of him.

Here in Spain you have a 15 day window to return products, even if there is nothing wrong with them.
Is there not something like that in the UK? I would have thought that most garages have a guarantee with their cars. Again, here in Spain, you usually get a one year guarantee with any second hand car you buy through a dealership that covers all physical and mechanical faults.

King of The North: circular news top?
by Gorbatchov infriends,.
with the circular speading of my satire tread about the annual meeting on many different ways, even informal across the jw organization, i'm pretty sure that the news about russia (new king of the north) is not real.. there was a moment i thought that it was a coïncidence that incoming messages mentioned it also.. now i suppose it started all with my op, went trending through the organization (even through bethel belgium) and became a story on it's own.. this is not realy my style and i'm not proud of it.. g..

That news is true. Nothing to do with your post. It’s confirmed in the new Ezekiel book.

Personal Data Permission (Spain)
by paradiseseeker ini had the meeting yesterday and there it was announced that there will be a new law passed in spain regarding personal data.
that law makes it compulsory for the wt spanish branch to collect a signed permission from the publishers to keep and utilize personal data.
no choice was given to us, we were just told to make sure we hand in our signed permissions before may 18th.

Spain is about the only country in the EU that doesn’t comply with the GDPR.
Like our friend Blade, I also submitted an official complaint especially as the WT form doesn’t comply at all with the GDPR standard.
I got a reply saying there is nothing they can do unless I make an official complaint whigh would be passed on to WT so that’s not something I’m prepared to do at present with being PIMO.

WT Recruiting JW Solicitors (Lawyers)
by AverageJoe1 inwe all know how much the watchtower abhors "higher education" and that apparently jehovah thinks it is a big waste of time.
at least that is their official stance.
it might come as a shock to you that this month they have started a campaign drive to actually recruit jws who have higher education, specifically those who have legal training.. with all the law suits against them for creating an environment that is friendly to paedophiles, it is thus no wonder that they are in need of solicitors, especially those who are sympathetic towards the cult.. talk about hypocrisy!.

Thanks Sparky, so that was after the ARC hearings so I guess it was sent out as they were in need of people to defend the Borg.
I wonder if something is stirring in Mexico then?

You're in the Army Now: Jehovah's Witnesses No Longer Exempt From Finnish Draft
by Tahoe inhttps://sputniknews.com/europe/201809211068220658-finland-jehovah-witnesses-army/.
the finnish government has ruled that the current law allowing jehovah's witnesses to avoid military service, in place for several decades, is discriminatory and contradicts the constitution.. .
in the future, finnish jehovah's witnesses* will be obliged to either serve in the nation's military or perform civil service on the same terms as everyone else, the government ruled, submitting a corresponding proposal to parliament, national broadcaster yle reported.. according to the 1987 law, jehovah's witnesses were not only freed from the military draft, they were freed of any obligation to perform community service as a pacifist alternative, a common option among other young people in finland.

or perform civil service on the same terms as everyone else
You mean that they didn't already? That's crazy!
I've never understood why someone wouldn't want to help their country out, nothing to do with nationalism, especially in time of war. I totally understand not fighting but can't get my head around not helping your fellow man via civil service.
