Awakened at Gilead: I never was part of the ASL Cong because I was a working interpreter at the time and I just didn't want to deal with the hassle of following my code of ethics and being a JW, so I never joined them, but I would go to a meeting every once and a while. I'm so glad I never joined the ASL cong, we live in a very small deaf community and let's just say the deaf here don't really like the JW's here, so it would be hard for me since I'm still a working interpreter.
Be glad you didn't have a vasectomy, at least you can have kids some day. The hardest part is knowing when he had it done we thought it was our decision but now we are out, realizing you were freaking mind-frellled and it wasn't your decision!

Thank you Aunt Fancy! I know so many people have said it's nice to put a face to the name! How I got my name is kind of a funny story. I was supposed to be a boy so my parents were going to name me Shiloh, and well surprise! So they just changed it to Shyla, they thought they made it up but come to find out it's a Native American name meaning "wild pony." Who knew?
When my parents, hubby and I get together for my birthday we are going to take a family picture and post here. I keep telling them, "we need to show people what an "apostate family" looks like. LOL.
My dad is going to be 52 in August and my mom just turned 50.
We all are just trying to rebuild our lives and My hubby and I are hoping to start a family soon through adopting. But we will see what happens.

Freedom always comes at a high price! All I can ask for is some can learn from us and maybe can escape with minimal damage. Or just help someone. That is all I wish for.
There has been some thing nagging at me about my uncle and I think that will be my next video...telling his story as best I can.
Thank you both for watching!

Right simon! I can see now they never were real friends. It's like you said, cutouts!
this is a letter i received today with my brother turning on me based on something that was told to him by my crazy mother.
he works for me, yet has not spoken a word to me in months because he is a self-righteous little dick.. .
what i would like to know from someone who knows the law, is it possible i can sue him if he pressures people to not work with me because of my religious beliefs????
If you live in the USA there is always pre-paid legal. They can help you with this kind of stuff, it is a membership but it's been a life saver for my husband and I so far and my parents.
...totally freak out and drop something if your child fails to say "please.".

the woman is clearly a nervous wreck, and very easily offended.. if this is her reaction to caleb forgetting his manners, i shudder to think how she will cope if she ever finds him doing drugs.. .
What I would like to see, but I know it will never happen is the sandwich start talking to Caleb telling him to "take care" of his parents...if you know what I mean....The devil told me to kill my parents through the sandwich! Or better yet his friend Sparlock still talking to him through the sandwich....
And really what kid talks like that? My parents taught me manners, but I never asked like that! And what's with the hands clasping together begging like that. Oh Caleb, such a sweet boy...oh wait who else said that....um....oh right, Norman, such a good boy...the movie Psycho.
Serial killer in the making folks! Mark my words, he's going to do it!

problemaddict:
I never was officially in the ASL Hall. I had gone a few times to some of their meetings, but since I'm an actual working ASL interpreter, I distanced myself from the ASL Hall because well I didn't want to deal with the ethical side of it since I work with the deaf everyday. I didn't want to call on someone on Saturday trying to preach to them and then Monday morning be interpreting for them at a medical appointment. I only ever went out in FS with the ASL hall once and it's funny because the one sister (she's at Bethel right now from what I hear working in the ASL dept) she was working as an interpreter too and I could see the conflict with the code of ethics we have to follow, and I just wasn't going to do that.
