since i am still fairly new to this whole "apostate thing" and have only been on jwn for about a month, i have questions for those of you who have been "out" for awhile or have been on here for a long time.. .
i have seen how many new people have joined since i joined, is that something that happens a lot?
having so many people sign up on here?
The most recent and confirmed "new light" is the the faithful and discreet slave class (all of the 144,00) are no longer the 144k, it is the governing body that is now the faithful and discreet slave.
There is rumor going around now the Governing Body are going to be changing their thoughts on the great crowd, but that hasn't been confirmed and is just rumor at this point.

Holy crap! That is such a good idea!!!!! I know there are active elders on here who are fed up with JW's and are dissidants. Heck could we get someone who is an ex elder to pose as an elder to request our cards?
I would love to have my card in hand, but heck even if it is destoryed, I'd be fine with that to.

Magotan, It took a lot of strength and courage to do what you did.
How your friends and family reacted is how all JW react. It's not you, IT IS THEM! When I told my family my doubts and my husband told his family his doubts, it was the same reaction. It doesn't matter if you were gay or not, it would be the same reaction!
was curious if you were serious or if you were hacked? Stupid question! When you are hacked this isn't something they do most of the time.
And quite honestly I don't think you're gay man. You might think you are because you may be attracted to guys but one of the Awakes helped us to appreciate that that's all linked to hormonal changes within our bodies that makes us feel that way. This happens in our age range and some witnesses think they're gay because of it but that's not always the case. Hormonal changes? One of the Awakes helps us to appreciate these feelings are linked to hormonal changes??? What a load of crap! Sure you might have brief periods where you feel attracted to someone of the same sex, but you would know if you are gay or not! WOW!!!!
But you are not gay, there is no such thing, you know that. WHAT? There is no such thing? I don't even know what to say about that! Some of my gay friends are "very" gay! No such thing. I guess this person has been so sheltered from the real world they believes the BS the WT feeds them.
It can only get better from here, I know it's going to be hard, but you need to make new friends and develop new relationship with non-jw people. I will be sending you a PM as soon as I post this.

I know I have felt more love and bonds of friendship forming here than as a Dub.
hi guys.
i'm interested in knowing whether any other faders out there ever find themselves feeling a little paranoid about establishing contact with other faders or former jws, just in case the unthinkable happens and things turn sour.. personally, i'm now fairly comfortable with the idea that i will be disfellowshipped or disassociated within the next year or so.
i see it as inevitable, and an essential transition in order to do what i want to do with my life.
Yes, even though my husband and I are still fading, it's very nerve racking. Even on here I'm so careful not to reveal to much because I don't want anyone to find out who I am. Our family who are still JW's, we don't hardly talk to them at all, just because we don't want to say the wrong thing to them that sends red flags up. Even at the beginning of the month we don't answer our land-line just because we know it could be the elders calling for our time.
So yes distrust and paranoia for us too.

Definitely food for thought. I've noticed from reading some past threads and people's comments it seemed like there was a huge influx of people when the whole "new light on 1914 generation can over lap" thing came out. OMG even my dad was like "what the hell?" And I know a lot of the JW people I know were not happy with it, but they just went with it. And now with the other "new light, FDS=GB" came out....that is what really caused my parents to start thinking and start researching and well...here they are and here I am and my hubby too.
Detective: I like your idea about the GB is just doing a test drive to gauge people's reactions and how quickly it spreads.

Bible Student: I think you have something there about they are just wanting to get rid of Jesus all together. That is one thing I keep saying to my family. I even posted a comment on here under a topic about we can only get Holy Spirit through the GB and I was sarcastic, but I said we all need to start praying to the GB now, because clearly they are the ones who died for our sins. That is one thing I never liked about being a JW was they never gave Jesus...well...anything really.
I just hope and pray more JW wake up! And can leave the mind frelling cult!

Since I am still fairly new to this whole "apostate thing" and have only been on JWN for about a month, I have questions for those of you who have been "out" for awhile or have been on here for a long time.
I have seen how many new people have joined since I joined, is that something that happens a lot? Having so many people sign up on here? Or is this a new thing having so many new ones come here, because of the "recent new light" from the GB, that is clearly being pulled out of the dark-side of the moon?
My other question is, are the GB getting more blatant with the "new light" and going so far from Jesus and the bible? Or have they always been like that?
I know Blondie posts article from the rags...oh sorry the mags....that reflects the "new light" the GB pull from their butts. So I know they have already said these thing. For example the recent topic on getting Holy Spirit from the GB only now. Blondie showed, the GB has said this for years ago, but now it just seems to me they are getting more bold and blatant with it. Or is it just because I have only become recently enlightened and since I'm awake now I can just "see it" now. Have they always been this bold about going against the the bible and I just didn't realize it because I was a borg?
I'd really appreciate some thoughts on this. I'm going to work now and won't be back on until tonight.

OMG you are so right!!!!! Wait until my father finally gets to posting on here, he will be the "trouble maker" always hauled in the back room because he is questioning everything and can't keep his mouth shut.
I'm the sister sitting behind you with the smile on her face like she is enjoying the meetings, but really is just bored and its trying to stay awake or thinking about what to do when I get home

Sitting here reading it, I realized I have did the same thing as a JW, only not with lashes. Mine was ear piercings. I went from having my ears pierced, one on each side. Just before I met my husband at a DC I had one side on the upper ear pierced and then had 3 on each side. Now I have 4 on each side (uppers are pierced and 3 on the lobes on each side). But it was funny because when I met my future husband and after we got married he told me he thought my ear piercings were sexy and he loved how I had them even though sisters were not supposed to have multiple ear piercings. He said it was my rebellious attitude he liked.
