Then there was the huge display of tampons at the supermarket with a sign on them that said "FREE - take as many as you wish! -No strings attached!"
That just wrong Gregor!

What the? You do know I raised daughters and stuff? mmm I did tell a porky though - it was just a 4litre cask of Kaiser Sthul Rose but the guy did say "see you tommorrow"Unclebruce said: I have no problem at all buying 'feminie products', if anything it shows I care lol .. It's far less embarrasing than buying condoms or 10 litres of wine and having the guy say "see you tommorrow"
*Mary discreetly coughs*: BULLSHIT!!!! -

Question for Christians only
by Steve Lowry inok, i got save in 1984 (left the wbts 1979).
i have always felt at a loss when it has come to the emotional impact aspect of jesus' sacrifice.
what i mean to say is, that i have seen other christians openly weep about jesus and his death on the cross, while i have felt nothing.

G'day Steve,
As a JW I felt much the same as you, I just couldn't see the big deal about Jesus happy thirty 33 1/2 years being worshiped on earth followed by a short period of suffering and a quick trip back to heavenly glory . The Watchtowerm Society's 'ransom sacrifice' reasoning never made sense. I was moved to tears with the stories of the suffering in Malawi but not that of the suffering of Jesus of Nazareth.
Perhaps it was meant to be that way. The last thing the WBTS wants is JW's actually feeling they have a retationship with a personal saviour.
cheers, unclebruce

Put the shit in a plain brown wrapper so we can throw it in our carts discreetly and have it blend in among the wine and beer. There is nothing more annoying than having a blinding pink package announcing your uterine state to everyone in the store. Why don't ya just add an in store microphone to the damn package & announce that...helloooo, another female is on her damn period!!!!!

What has this board given to you?
by Crumpet inhaving cooled down a bit in the garden i got to thinking about what this board has given me and wondered what anyone else feels they have gained from it.. for me its been invaluable and even life changing:.
1) freedom from the brainwashing - when i came here i had already read ray franz's books and still believed it jws had the truth - hat i was basically worthless and that i would die at armageddon.
the reasoned conversations and help of the posters from all over the world has enabled me to have freedom of thought - something i didnt even know i didnt have until i spent time here.. 2) friends who empathise and know from an experience what i have been through in a way outsiders can never possiby understand.. 3) entertainment - unbelievable laughs and moments of humour that have cheered me up so many times.. 4) association - via the aposta bbqs and telephone chats i can now have so i don't feel so isolated and to some extent alleviates the awful pain of separation from my loved family.. 5) information - from this board and posters here i have found out things that were my right to know but would never have learnt otherwise - my sisters marriage, my aunts tragic death.. 6) reunions - i have now met at least one person who knows me from my childhood and has grown into a man of such kindness and patience that i would have missed out on completely had he not been here and been kind enough to hold my hand - even when i've been an irritating totured little idiot!.
