As a JW I used to joke about having a brain washed clean by the Watchtower Society but now I know it was just "incultcation"

JW says Jehovah's People aren't Brainwashed
by Honesty inwell from what i understand a cult is something that expects you to follow some man.
you must give up your individual thought processes and just go with what you are told to think.
this way you are released from individual responsibility.

Fluff- Have you named your vehicle?
by serendipity ini was emboldened by elsewhere's post where he called his mini cooper "nancy".
the large glass of wine also helped me to make an admission.
many years ago, i named my car "sully" after the scrumptious character in "dr quinn, medicine woman", mainly to tease my daughter.

several of my sisters had names for their cars which I thought was really really stupid!
I eventually cracked and now have a Mitsubishi pick-up called "mr bishi", an excavator called "eric", a bobcat called "bob" and a firetruck called "fred"

i know it's a small part and all i did was ask.boy am i proud.

When is it appropriate for a JW to refuse to supply a Watchtower???
by Black Sheep ini have been refused copies of recent watchtowers by my daughter.. she will give them to me..... "if you can tell me that you think jw may have the truth and that is why you want to read them you can have them.".

Where I was raised we 'placed literature' with everyone, opposers or not. Once a Christodelphian came to the Kingdom Hall and bought an Aid Book. Now that was a damned big publication with it's fine print and thin pages. This guy came back 3 months later with it marked, underlined, highlighted and filled with marginal notes. The looney had studied it harder than any of us and handed his copy back in which he had "corrected all the errors" lol what a guy! Times may have changed and the socety may be encouraging the flockers to be more frugal .. no more stacks of mags under the bed or handing out literature without a comitment to read it.

Interesting developments
by SickofLies inhello everyone, remember me?
for those of you who are new i produced a documentary on disfellowshiping in the kingdom hall.
the interesting thing is that i was df'ed not for committing and 'gross' sin, as you might think, but i was df'ed of litterally asking to many questions.. anyway, i've heard the following news co's and do's in the us are talking about my case, i have been barred from ever entering a kingdom hall again (police notice was enfocred on me) and for some reason i have been getting calls from elders from the hall i was booted out of lately (i have not returned or answered the calls as of yet).

I'm sorry sickoflies,
As a non-dismembered walkaway (spiritually weak class 6), I don't think it would be prudent for me to associate with you anymore. And if we do happen to meet please refrain from speaking to me about anything spiritual or scriptual (fornication, beastiality, flying saucers, that sort of thing ..

IF they were right
by KW13 inimagine you woke up in a paradise earth that was inhabited by jehovahs witnesses.
what would your reaction be?
personally i'd feel sick (if my perfect body would allow that lol) as eternity stuck with them, would be worse than hell.

g'day kw,
A point well lost on the faithful flockers is that such a controlling organiation as the Watchtower Bible and Trap Society is not going to suddenly relinquish sovereignty over peoples lives just because they are now rulers over the entire planet. Quite the opposite is hinted at in much of the literature. There are to be princes ruling over the earth, new scrolls to be opened and speakers in the trees playing Kingdom Melodies every waking hour. The fruit platters will be laced with valium to keep the workers calm and thought police will perform weekly brain scans to ensure uniformity of view.
It'll be ok though karl, a group of us apostates will be encamped in the mountains preparing to take on the mightly Jah Lords and their zombie warriors ... unc wakes ...uh?
