I'll try reading the instructions again. HTML is processed differently here - the instuctions are allways displayed just below, (when you are in "reply post" mode) where it says: "Add emotions to your message" - (you don't need smileys for that) and "Use forum code in your message." They use the square ][ brackets here but I can't get color to work yet.

The Vikings have been given a bad name or at least one as 'invaders' by popular media yet they were most often settlers and 'civilizers' of places they went. (still herders pushing out nomadic peoiples but that's another story)
I fully respect the likes of Kent, Norm and Jan, avowed athiest Vikings who have done tremendous work in freeing folk from cultic myth allowing them to pursue their own journey. I cannot readily explain what I believe but don't think any box or book can contain 'the truth'.

my question for jehovah's witnesses is how do they know that he did?
did christ tell them he did so while appearing to them in a dream or vision?

Seriously now, In my opinion, the answer to your question boils down to "1919". In 1919 who was blessed by Jesus the returned Christ? Well, who in 1919 was in complete control of Gods Earthly Organization? Who was released from prison, bitter at his treatment and determined to give his percieved enemies all the bluster he could muster? Out of all the holy and upright men on earth, who in that year did Jesus decide was worthy of being entrusted with all his possessions? Non other than that personification of all that is good and righteous, Judge Joseph Rutherford of cource.

Calling all Norwegians! I was almost an atheist but never quite made it. My homemade 'reality catapult' flung me well clear of the JW/christian castle but not quite into the Viking fort. (phew what a ride)
unclebruce, happily finishing the journey baggage free, feet on the ground, one step at a time.
PS: Atheism is just what JWs need in my opinion. Completely clear their heads of the fundy mindtrap, make them all atheist for a year then let 'em go free ...
