Stupid things that happened as a Witness...

anyone got any stupid questions they were asked or things that happened as a witness?.

when i was at school, a kid asked me "if you don't celebrate birthdays, how do you know how old you are?".

Stupid things that happened as a witness? Geez everyday was life in the twilight zone.

Tuesday was the weirdest day in our house. It was floor washing day and we were forbiddden entry between 9am and 5pm (mum washed the floors then sat back and enjoyed the soaps .. Days of our wives, General Hospital etc..)

We couldn't wait for easter Tuesday so mum felt OK buying hot cross buns and chocolate eggs (in accordance with apostate Pauls instructions concerning things sacraficed to idols)

Tuesday evening book study was in our house and it was my job to cover the terrazo mermaid on the bathroom floor with a towel lest someone see her bellybutton or little boobs.

Anthony Mundine Comments

i just read the comments of australian boxer and muslim anthony mundine.

he says the attack on the wtc on sept. 11th wasn't an act of terrorism, but an act of religion, because of the actions of the united states in history.

apparently, while too cowardly to actually say he approves of the terrorism on the u.s., like so many muslims are cowardly in this regard, he seems to slip in his approval through the back door, as it were.

The whole Sept11 thing and it's aftermath saddens me deeply .. but i'm buggered if i'm going to excite myself over things i have no power to change. We rollercoast through life at it's top for a while then plunge into it's deepest gullies .. if we're lucky we grow stronger as we learn, fight, find true love, get high now and then with the ecstacy of just being human, breathing reality deeply, sighing away negativity ... life we're here then we're not .. LOL i'm just rambling .. i feel like there's a poem in me somewhere trying to escape ..lol..

Thanks for inquiring .. I'm well and happy, living in a terror free zone .. biggest terrorist around here is a brushtail possum who drops a crap bomb in my coffee now and then when i'm not looking .. he'll get his .. karma 'll have him fall out of a tree or something.

You're right, the Northern Alliance are cut throats, rapists and criminals of the worst sort. But this "war on Terrorism" is to give the American people 'closure'.. I'm no psyciatrist but they are traumatised and only a few rag heads on plates can begin the healing process (particularly for men - who seem to need to express thier hurt by hurting someone else .. very basic forces are at play here and all we can do is watch.)

The events of Sept 11 were fundamentally traumatic and tragic enough for a world weary of bad news without being embelished and used for propaganda purposes by the hawks and other militeristic peddlers of death to the world.

'good standing' meant someone attending mtgs,fs etc.

i had never heard it applied to walkaways.

G'day wassa,

Uncle, if we put you in charge of the US response (and currently I'm all for that idea), what would you do? How would you find the terrorist cells and those who support them? Once we find them, I'll help you reload.

I'm no soldier but I guess all the US military can do is what they are already doing. Use their superior weapons technology and massive spy network to full advantage .. authoriise and de-restrict covert operations and 'go for them' personally and unreservedly.

I hope one thing the west will learn from this is the immportance of building trust and good relations with people of as many nations as posible while never letting down it's guard. (not that anything could have prevented the tragedy of Sept 11)

PS: maybe Buddha should bless America, too. God seems to have taken a vacation.

The attitude of the Taliban to Afghanistans ancient Buddhist statues says it all .. in one way these statues were just carvings in rock but more than that they represented deeper things pertaining to human expectations and dignity and are no less missed as symbols of inspiiration than New Yorks twin towers.

JW Missionaries were/are flying free on UN flights

according to a jw contact i have who just visited an asia pacific country, jw missionaries have been permitted to fly free aboard un flights.

can anyone else check into/confirm this... i am currently trying with my sources to get more information on this.. could be there were some financial benefits to un association after all!.
