I have that problem of asking why too often. My wife will say,"We need to do so and so, and I will ask why?

a number of people have asked where i disappeared to and why i stopped posting.
so that i dont have to keep typing the reason out im putting it here.
it might just make some of you think about what a loving god you serve.
I think I'll have to stop reading this forum, I see too many sad things going on with so many here. I hope all of you can get over the crap that this loving God has caused by cursing mankind for eating a piece of fruit.

i'm a little sore but the pain meds help alot.
Glad to hear the good news, my daughter is having this done on the 13th, I hope it goes as well as yours.

i realise that there are many reasons for people leaving the org and some are very sensitive and difficult to discuss.
but i was wondering how many people, if they really think about it, were finally broken by the sheer workload as a jw.
someone replied to my thread yesterday (page 2), and discussed the average week for most jw`s.
Yes!!!

reading crisis of conscience by raymond franz today i came across an account of how knorr acted when franz, alone among governing body members, suggested that the monarchial system of absolute power vested in knorr and his predecessors was unscriptural, and since they had removed that arrangement from the congregations (replacing it with a body of elders arrangement) they should do the same thing at the headquarters: in each case of my doing so, however, the president took the remarks very personally, speaking at great length, his voice tense and forceful, saying that 'evidently some were not satisfied with the way he was handling his job.
' he would go into great detail as to the work he was performing and then would say 'now apparently some don't want me to handle things anymore' and that perhaps he should 'bring it all down here and turn it over to ray franz and let him handle it.
yes folks, this was the way the society's president from 1942 to 1976 acted.
I talked to him once at the Ministry School in NY and he seemed arrogant to me.

how do you feel, now, knowing that the ridiculers, objectionist or non-jw family and workmates were right.. i feel a tad embarrist, i spent a long time, 20 years, trying convince, or prove ppl that i had the "truth" .
my only consolation was that i would be proved right and that they would end up looking foolish.
pride is a terrible thing.
Most of the people that I knew didn't really care if I was right or not. No one ask me now if I am a JW or not except other JWs. I've never had anyone mention me calling on their homes when I was a JW, and I stopped at about every home in town. We were not as important as we thought.

it just breaks my heart when i read some of the posts on this websites and hear all of the horror stories about people and families suffering because of what the church or religion did to them.
not just jw's or mormons, but catholics, born-agains are also included in this group.
i bet you could find just as many disgruntle ex-catholics and ex-born-agains out in the world who have been severly hurt by their church.
Don't think I'm against a person believing in Jesus and prayer, my wife does this and is a good person, but I have seen things happen that she believes was an answer to prayer, as an example her daughter had a growth in her breast and she prayed for her and when she went back to the doctor it was gone, but why doesn't it work now, she has another growth and it isn't going away? Why doesn't God listen now?

,"Another way to explain hell might be that while on earth all humans are recipients of God's common grace, eg, he makes it rain on the righteous & unrighteuous, the sun rises & sets, etc.
He also makes the tornadoes, hurricanes, volcanos, earthquakes etc fall on the righteous and unrighteous so we all get his anger as well as his grace, that is if he is doing anything here on earth.

i see many threads about bethel paying out bethelites as they leave to keep in quiet - aka: hush money.
i don't believe it was hush $ in ray franz's case...it was more like "here is something for you to get started".
so i don't think anyone has been "paid.
I agree with Gregor. I don't like apostates to be viewed as a bunch of wackos by JWs, especially when some make it seem true.

How many christains here believe God is going to roast us unbelievers in a hell fire for eternity? I know many that do. That really turns me off to their God and worship. Why would Jesus allow his followers to teach that? How can you tell a TRUE christain from a FALSE christain believer?
