My sanity. Except for that I have enjoyed my life both in and out of JW life. How much it would have been different I can't really say. It may have saved my life in the Korean war since I was exempt from service at that time, or maybe it was Vietnam. I think it cost me financially but I'm can't be sure.

the latest rumblings are that the wtbts may start coming down hard on anyone who marries outside the faith.
jw's who choose to marry a non believer will be df'd.
i would imagine those marrying unbaptized ones will be marked or told to get the spouse baptized or get df'd.
It's always the same with God. He changes the rules to match the circumstances at the time.

Everything is different now that we are living in the time of the end. We have to straighten up and fly right. He had to appoint a special faithfull and discrete slave class to serve the food at the proper time so we could eat the new light and not get poisoned by the apostate thinking. Get baptised into the Organization to preach to the whole world the good news that 6 billion non-Jws will be eliminated soooooon and all but about 8,000 of humans left will live in a new world where we can pet the lions. Those 8,000 will go to heaven and rule with Christ for a thousand years, and then another killing will occur on earth and heaven.
We must get our thinking straight by letting the governing body tell us every thought we must have by attending all the mettings and studying the publications or we are dead meat for the birds, real soon now, really soon now because the generation of 1914 is about dead, whatever that generation is now.
We will have a song and prayer now and meet up for field service.

I just don't understand the mentality of someone who wants to be tatooed or pierced. What is the incentive, is it for yourself or for others who will be looking at you? Do you get some type of special feeling or something? Maybe fit into a special group of contemporaries or something like that? Just wondering.

this is related to my question in "entertainment" regarding "the da vinci code".
in the book and the movie, it is claimed that jesus was actually married to mary magdelene, and that they had a child, descendants of whom survive even at the present time.
so, my question is: do you think any of this is true, could possibly be true, or is just plain wrong?
I am not really sure he ever existed as described by the christains. All we have are some written notes by those who believed he was a god.

Does the brain make a grove like a 45 record or does it have a magnetic spot like a hard drive to remember something? I was wondering about this the other day when I remembered something that happened 60 years ago and hadn't thought about it since.
I think the part of my brain that remembers names and words is losing it's functionality. Numbers are OK I think as well as pictures, although sometimes I don't seem to recognize where I am on a familiar road for a while.
Old age sucks, sometimes.

i had high speed cable internet for $53 a month with videotron and i just dropped it to their lowest cable speed for $29 a month.. now i can buy an extra case of beer a month .
$98.16 a month for TV and broadband internet connection.

without attacking anyone for their beliefs, feel free to state what you believe in right now.. personally, i still believe in a higher power, a creator, call him jehovah if you wish, a god that will put things back right eventually.

this is a small town area.
i actually used to live about three houses down from these people.
when i read of something like this, it makes me all the more careful as a parent and never assume anything when it comes to your young children.
My dad killed a little boy when he ran out between two cars. My wife's dad killed his little son with a truck, he would run out to meet him and ride on the running board on the side of the truck into the driveway. He slipped and fell off under the rear wheel before his dad could stop. Later, another of his sons was killed in this same truck. He never got over this, became a drunk the rest of his life.
