There's something odd as to the reasons but I think more and more friends may be questioning their authority and they just can't find a way to control the masses...

TV.JW.ORG (September 2015) - Generation explained again
by Designer Stubble inguess the overlapping generation concept is difficult for most to comprehend.
david spane does his best to explain it again.
the cutoff date for this generation has now moved to 1992 (was once 1935), the year that fred franz died.

Here's the link to the chart.
I believe only the baptism dates for Chitty and Greenlees are approximate. The rest of the data seems pretty accurate to me, but then again, if anyone finds data that might be reviewed, feel free to do so.
Best regards,
Avaddohn

Of course Wifibandit! I'll send it in a PM! I've been going through it and only two dates of baptism are given as an approximate. I'll provide more details in the PM!

I find this chart interesting when talking about "generations".
Even though Russell is not being considered part of the faithful and discreet slave, I think this chart clearly shows how we pass from one generation to another and the fact that the "overlapping" explanation could be applied to thousands of generations (you could stretch it as far as you may want to or need to).
The chart specifies the year when the person was born and baptized. How old they were when they were baptized, the year when they were appointed to the GB or Board of Directors or whatever you may want to call it, how old they were when they were "appointed", those who resigned, the year when they died and how many years they were part of the governing body and at what age they died.
I have copied the data in a separate chart and boy, you can really play around these statistics. For instance, you can identify those who baptized before reaching 15 years old and even make projections for the current members. You can see that Mark Sanderson was born 113 years after Russell and that he was only 10 when he baptized etc.
Anyway, the point is that if we consider the term generation according to its actual definition; i.e., the average length of time between the birth of parents and the birth of their children (Merriam Webster's) which in most countries ranges from 20 to 30 years; since 1852 the world has seen nearly 8 generations. Currently, we're saying goodbye to those who were born in the 1930s (4 generations after Russell's) and there's no way in which any "scaremonger" can change that...

And to think that for over a decade, we were told to believe quite the opposite. The "Generation" teaching is a clear example of a doctrine that shifts back and forth with most people just shrugging their shoulders and accepting whatever crap they're told.
This is from the Watchtower article, "Questions From Our Readers" dated June 1, 1997, pg. 28:
Questions From Our Readers
“The Watchtower" of November 1, 1995, focused on what Jesus said about "this generation" as we read Matthew 24:34. Does this mean that there is some question about whether God's kingdom was set up in heaven in 1914?
[...]
With similar sincere intentions, God’s servants in modern times have tried to derive from what Jesus said about “generation” some clear time element calculated from 1914. For instance, one line of reasoning has been that a generation can be 70 or 80 years, made up of people old enough to grasp the significance of the first world war and other developments; thus we can calculate more or less how near the end is.
However well-meaning such thinking was, did it comply with the advice Jesus went on to give? Jesus said: “Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father. . . . Keep on the watch, therefore, because you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.”—Matthew 24:36-42.
So the recent information in The Watchtower about “this generation” did not change our understanding of what occurred in 1914. But it did give us a clearer grasp of Jesus’ use of the term “generation,” helping us to see that his usage was no basis for calculating—counting from 1914—how close to the end we are."
Back in the 90's besides this kind of more balanced teaching, we also had the 'higher education' policy softened a little bit. I believe Barbara Anderson has explained something regarding the liberals vs. the hard-liners but I often wonder who the liberals were (and if any remain maybe not as part of the GB but within the "helpers" group).

Angola BANS ISLAM and MUSLIMS. Calls it a sect.
by PaintedToeNail inangola has banned islam and closed the mosques, saying that it is a sect and counter to the culture of the country.. http://www.worldbulletin.net/headlines/163865/angola-bans-islam-shuts-down-mosques .

I believe this is an old story that resurfaces every now and then. Now, I may be wrong but if you search the web, you will find the Angolan government denying the same note almost two years ago.
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/nov/28/angola-accused-banning-islam-mosquesLike I said, maybe this time it's for real but, I think such a report would have been more spread by renowned agencies and media if it were true.

TV.JW.ORG (September 2015): Serving Single - Do not use JW dating sites!
by Designer Stubble inaround the 39:00 minute mark the focus shifts to a single sister who cannot find a mate.
at the 42:30 minute mark she states "i cannot believe it crossed my mind...to look on jw dating sites".
guess a new unwritten rule is added to the many oral traditions of these pharisees.

Well, it'll be funny how those facebook administrators of groups for single witnesses understand this "new light".
Those of us who speak Spanish are acquainted with a JW fanatic named "José Antonio Gutiérrez García" who has created a thousand JW-related facebook groups.
He's know for sharing pictures, posting rumors and sharing "exclusive news" with his facebook followers.
Well, this guy has created various groups for "single JW" and is very proud of those weddings that have taken place as a result of his dating site.
Now, he's been reported to his own elders in Granada, Spain several times for his conduct (he's quite a case of fanatism) but, I wonder if anyone will report him for disobeying this new rule on dating sites!
Below you can see two captions, one where he proudly announces creating a new group for single JWs who speak portuguese and the other is his actual group in Spanish with 1242 members as of today!
