Wake me up when evidence that Anthony Morris III is an alcoholic and used JW funds to purchase very nice scotch is brought to light. I don't follow him and don't give him money. Making a big deal and creating a hashtag about an out of context purchase of Scotch to take a person down is Pharisaical, no one looks good. I don't give a flying flamingo about his private life.

Thank you for clarifying that this is about taking a person down even if you have to torch the "community" whilst doing it, rather than actual concern for alleged crimes involving minors.

Wake me up when evidence that he had sex with minors is handed to the police, which is what should have been done in the first place. I don't follow him and don't give him money. Destroying this so-called community to take a person down is Pharisaical, no one looks good. If he has committed crimes, report him to the ruddy police. Mrs. E and the children and the sex workers are the victims. I find it hard to believe anyone here is truly all that upset or worried about them or their welfare.

Did the person who started all this get permission from the wife to post these things on flaming Reddit? If not, that would be telling.

If people have evidence of him being paedophile they should turn it over to the relevant authorities. Rumour, hearsay, and faulty logic will only add to the truism that you can take the JW out of the cult but you can't take the cult out of the JW.

I concur. I left the Watchtower ages ago, I will not become like the very organisation I was born into which took me ages to be able to leave. My whole family, all my former "friends", are all still in—I still have narcissist BPD family I have to protect myself and my sanity against, something that will go on for the rest of my life as long as the Watchtower still stands. I lost everything when I left. I hope we ex-jws never come close to what the caption in the picture below says.

My father is a narcissistic man, now an elder, to make matters worse. My mum pretty much just submits. I have had to stay away for my own sanity, he had a hold on me even after I left home because I was still a JW trying to please him. Now, I tried setting boundaries and when he totally and utterly ignored them, I cut him off. I just feel sorry for my younger sister who still lives with them and whom I won't be able to help in a long time. This religion needs to burn to the ground, it gives people like my father a license to ruin his children's mental health and lives.

I 'packed my things and left' the borg for my own sanity and freedom, leaving family and friends behind. The borg still looms over my life, because of family and friends in it, and running into people in my new life who I find out are JWs. As long as the borg exists, I'll be affected by it, I hope less and less as the years go by.

for many who have left jw.org, there is still a spiritual need and faith in the bible.

beroean pickets is one group/website where serious bible research and commentary, weekly critical reviews of wt studies, as well expose's of flawed wt opinion/doctrine- all backed by the bible- can be considered.

this vast amount of work and research is all done by just a small group of our volunteer brothers and sisters.

The problem is that both groups still believe in an omnibenevolent God who willingly killed 70,000 children, mothers and fathers just because some stupid king took a census. And they still believe in talking snakes, talking donkeys, and a man named Noah that was able to fit 40,000,000 different species of animals in an ark that was about 1.5 million cubic feet.

This. They also believe this omnibenevolent God killed innocent children just to make an example of some Egyptians and don't seem to see anything wrong with it.

I guess when I picked my username I went with a long one that wouldn't have been taken. I was really into the BBC's (2010) Sherlock at the time and the avatar is his silhouette, deerstalker hat and all. It's a nice online disguise if there is such a thing as an online disguise – I was trying to be an anonymous apostate online. It seems to have worked because I have been left alone by congregation elders and I haven't shared many personal details online, to boot. The detective part was very much because Holmes applies lots of observation and logic to his investigations, and that was what I felt was needed to get out of the maze that is the WT fairy tale belief system. Like others I feel I have outgrown my avatar, but there it is. I still research and investigate, and would still rather be anonymous.
