You are right: Most of the biblical accounts are modifications from other cultures. Much of the things about Jesus would remind us of Egyptian god Horus.
Moses himself could be a mythical figure. For example, in Exodus 2:10, the name given to him by the princess is connected with a Hebrew verb meaning "to draw out". How did she know that this child is destined “to draw out” the Israelites from Egypt through Red Sea? It shows it is the writer (not the princes) who named Moses!

There are plenty of references for Egyptian connection in the Bible and in secular history. According to Dr. James Montgomery in his book, Arabia & the Bible, as well as the old Negev inscriptions, Yah was another name for Wadd, the god of the full moon. His image appears as a snake on both the Beersheba altar and the Migdal Synagogue stone as well in various cultic artifacts found throughout Israel. The 10th Century King Jeroboam of Israel marked Israel’s southern boundaries with idols of the golden calf.

In Egyptian, “yah” is the moon god and “wah” means “increasing or growing.” Yah + wah = growing Moon. Yahweh/Yah-wah could then be a lunar form of the Great Mother goddess in which the “growing” represents her in her pregnant aspect. Thus knowing the root of Yah, Jesus chose to call God as “our heavenly Father.” (Mathew 6:9)
Most well-known English versions of the Hebrew Bible translate the Hebrew "Hallelujah" (as at Psalm 150:1) as "Praise Yah" or “Praise Lord” But JWs have no doubt, hence translate as “Praise Jah!” and puts in foot note: ‘“Jah” is a shortened form of the name Jehovah.’ (Psalm 150:1)
recently we watched a documentary entitled: "the dark truth of religion".
from the quality of the video, it appeared to be made several decades ago.
it reminded me of a type of movie that they would show in a college class about the history of world religions.
I watched the video--very true.
It reminds me of what Seneca said:

jehovah's witnesses have had to revise their chronology and various doctrinal interpretations due to events and scholarly corrections.
but the one teaching where they have been consistently ahead of the curve is the importance of jehovah's name.. .
i'm going to run through a (necessarily selective) timeline of jw events and scholarly publications that demonstrate the phenomenal success of this teaching in the last days.
JWs using Jehovah's name is no glory to them, rather it has backfired on them: "When the prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah and the word is not fulfilled or does not come true, then Jehovah did not speak that word. The prophet spoke it presumptuously. You should not fear him." (Deuteronomy 18:22)
If JWs have not made any changes in their teachings, then their using God's name would have added glory to them.

in genesis god allows satan after deceiving the first human pair to go relatively unpunished for thousands of years interacting between heaven and earth at will.. the so called punishment is not to take effect until thousands of years later.. in the meantime .. the wager ( ?
) between jehovah and satan over jobs loyalty in question ,and obviously satan still having communication with god in the heavens.

the video drama shown at the recent comvention was called "the wife of lot".
i noticed some stuble lessons being taught in this soap opera style video.... firstly, all the bad influence comes from women, its the wife and the mother in law whose pushing for more money and a better lifestyle.
while the men remain loyal to god, can't show the men going astray now can we?.
Lot's wife was actually looking back at life something like that of present GB live--having materially to the full!

That is an interesting thought. Adopting a name and going exactly opposite to it is of worldly spirit. It reminds me of William Shakespeare who wrote: ‘What's in a name?’ because many names and words have lost their meaning. For example, a city is named Los Ángeles which means 'the angels' (in Spanish). The word religion (from religare, Latin) which originally meant re-uniting (or reestablishing bond between God and humans and between humans) is now synonym for divisiveness and conflicts.
