The very thing religions have not yet understood is the very word religion which they mean by their very action to be divisive whereas in truth religion has to with re-bonding (from Latin religare, which means “to tie again,” to bring into harmony again.)

Number could be more than 8 billion, because
Flood story is a poor copy of the myths found in other cultures. Essence of those myths is that what is new becomes old in the due course of time, and God renews what has become old through some means which varies from culture to culture. That means Old World would end with more than 8 billion people, and New World would again start with two people.
Hebrews preferred a global flood which may or may not be true. What is true is that Old World would end through some means, and New World would begin with two persons. This would mean there are two phases to each block of history [and two different words for humans to describe their pre-fall and post fall nature]:
First half of history [New World] is filled with perfect people who had control over their body organs.
Second half of history [Old World] is filled with imperfect people who lost their control over their body, hence began to be ruled by body.
Interestingly, the word diamond comes from the Greek adamao, which means "I tame" or "I subdue;" and its adjective adamas means “unbreakable.” From this came the English word adamant [from a = ‘not’ + daman = ‘to tame’] meaning “untamable, invincible”. New World people are adamant stubbornly refusing to listen to Satan (vices personified). In Hebrew language (older than Greek), related to adamah is the word adam, which means “man” or “mankind” in their sinless stage during pre-fall period when they had perfect control over their bodies. In the East, the word for man [admi, admah ..etc] has the same connotation. The Sanskrit words "manush" "manava," meaning “a person with thinking ability,” have the connotation of one who is in control of himself acting thoughtfully in consideration of pros and cons before executing the action, thus using his thinking abilities to rule over his bodily organs.
This is in contrast to the post-fall people of the second half of the history [also called narak or hell] where they are being ruled by body [bulk of which is neer or water], hence humans are called nara-naaris [from neer, water] who show the characteristics of neer or water that takes the form of its container, the symbol of being ruled by circumstances.

NWT 1984 vs NWT 2013
by Tallon ini recently had a discussion with a jw concerning a change in wording of a scripture - in fact this was my all time favourite scripture, namely, micah 6:8.. my view is that the wtbts have deliberately changed the wording and meaning of the said scripture.
the other person is of the opinion that that is not the case.

You could see the motive of the Translation Committee. Situation is now different because this is modification on their own existing translation. Replacing kindness with loyalty towards organization is deliberate deviation. This is like what the postal department has done:
"Save him, not hang him" was the original message from the Highest Authority.
But the postal department has sent the telegram which read:
"Save him not, hang him".
The jail authorities promptly acted on it and hanged the person.

How to deal with struggling with the doctrines

i'm still a jw but am inactive.
im struggling with the fact that i agree with some of the doctrines (i,e, the stance on the trinity, there is no hell) but i disagree with a lot of things (i,e, men can't have beards, women have to wear skirts).

on one occasion she averted a disaster by acting promptly (by performing the act of circumcision on their son) thus saving moses from being killed by jehovah’s angel which ultimately helped the israelites’ exodus from egypt.

Many Bible writers were writing things which they did not mean or lost meaning later. For example, epileptic seizures occur because of a sudden surge of electrical activity in the brain, which causes a temporary disturbance in the messaging systems between the brain cells. Unaware of this truth, ancient superstitious people thought such seizures are the result of demon-possessions, hence practiced exorcism. People with such wrong ideas wrote the account of Mark 9:17-29 where we find Jesus is depicted as curing an epileptic patient by casting out demons from him declaring: “This kind can come out only by prayer.” Same type of people are behind projecting Joshua as stopping “the sun and moon” from orbiting (Joshua 10:12) which meant they didn’t know that if the sun stood still, there would have to be a suspension of both our orbital movement as well as our rotational movement in order to keep the sun specifically over one location .
This shows human ideas can make their way into the Bible and may appear as though coming from the mouth of Jesus, or any prophet. So is the case with Moses and his Law.

This shows Jesus knew that humans are not meant to take guidance from other humans because of the simple truth that each one’s very essence is endowed with ability to receive and transmit guidance from God if we make an effort to really listen to it: “The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.” (Romans 8:16)
Interestingly, through different wordings, Carl Jung indirectly points to the ability of our inner self. He arrived at this conclusion from analyzing his own dreams which he says is the means our sub-conscious mind uses to communicate with us by delivering messages direct to the conscious. Although many different characters can appear in our dreams, he believed that “every character is a different aspect of our unacknowledged self or a prevalent situation in our life. Basically, we cannot easily retrieve the data stored in our unconscious mind, so dreams offer the opportunity to view the data so that we can achieve inner peace, balance and harmony and achieve self-growth and self-realization, which propel us towards our unique higher purpose”—a process he meant by the term individuation.

They are pure nature; they show us the unvarnished, natural truth, and are therefore fitted, as nothing else is, to give us back an attitude that accords with our basic human nature when our consciousness has strayed too far from its foundations and run into an impasse.”
