That ain't Jesus on the lower right. That's Kenny Rogers. And when Jehovah's chariot runs into the ditch, he'll be there to sing, "You picked the wrong time to leave me, loose wheel"

Does JESUS Have Wings?
by Cold Steel inthe jehovah's witnesses believe jesus is an angel.
they also apparently believe that angels have wings.
jesus was a spirit being before he was born, we're told, and he was resurrected as a spirit (even though jesus insisted he wasn't a spirit), then does he still have his [ring bell] wings?

I would like to help active JWs see the light. One social network I belong to has a JW discussion group only for "those who love Jehovah". I asked the moderator if I could join. He sent back some questions (I suppose to weed out apostates):
Good luck, but you're wasting your time. At the first sign of dissention, the moderator will DF you from the group quicker'n you can say Judge Rutherford was a drunk.
And even if you don't get the boot, true believers will not be swayed by logic and reason. Belief does not pair well those those concepts. Until a JW questions on their own, and seeks answers on their own, there's not much you can do to help them "see the light". But, to each his own. Again, good luck.
On a side note, why would anyone really want to be part of a discussion group where you have to jump through stupid hoops as this group makes people do?

The scientific hypocrisy of Jehovah's Witnesses
by jwfacts ini have been involved in an email exchange with a jw regarding my article on noah's flood, and whether it was global.
it got me really worked up, as i find the watchtower mentality totally hypocritical.
here is part of the conversation.. .

HIM - Our conversation proved to be futile since you couldn’t prove me scripturally that I and JW’s are wrong on the matter of a global flood.
He's right. Your conversation is futile. You're arguing with a person who will take the stories from an ancient manuscript as literal history over the findings of modern science. Ironic that he knows it's futile but doesn't realize that he's the reason.

Will you give me some ideas ?
by exwhyzee inwe recently told a good friend that we haven't seen in awhile that we are no longer jw's.
she is like a sister to me but is on the verge of shunning us because when she asked me why we left the org.....i told her and she didn't like what she was hearing.
she said she felt that her faith was being challenged.

Reads more like someone trying to convince themselves that they're right more than they're trying to convince you that you're wrong.

Is there one scripture you like to show JWs and why ?
by Pterist in2 corinthians 4:4. the wbts like to use 2 corinthians 4:4 frequently.
however, they invariably never complete the section of verse 4, which states "lest they see the radiance of the glorious gospel of christ" .. i ask them what does this mean to them personally ?, my motivation is to draw their attention to exactly what is been hidden by the god of this system of things.
the answer is in verse 6 and 7 "yahweh who said let the light shine out of darkness, has also made the light shine in our hearts to radiate and to make known the glory of god as it shines in the face of christ, however we carry this treasure in vessels of clay, so that this all surpassing power may not be seen as ours, but as gods"!

I've seen guys join the JWs in order to 'win' the girl. Some actually succeeded. Joined the JWs. Got baptized. Got the girl. Married the girl. So - they got the girl, but now they're in a cult. Unless you want to be in a mind control cult, that dictates to you most every facet of your life, it's not worth it. Of the guys I know that did it, things didn't work out in the long run. Divorce or misery... sometimes both.
If you have to change religions to please the other person, you're caving to them and are not being true to yourself. If you're not true to yourself first, you'll never be truly happy.
It seems to be a simple solution: RUN! but it is the best. Do not get romantically involved with anyone who won't return affection unless you join their religion. JW, Mormon, or any other religion.

A picture so outrageous, it deserves its own thread...
by cedars ini mean no disrespect to sd-7 or his fine thread on which this picture has already featured, but i think it is just so ridiculous that it deserves a thread all of its own.. lurkers and apologists, this is how your precious organization views itself.... behold the madness.... .

I find myself in the odd position of defending the WTS in one wee little bit... The title of the illustration says "The Earthly Part of Jehovha's Organization". Technically speaking, if you believe in WT doctrine that is, the earthly part of the organization does start with the GB and work it's way down. So, the 1 thru 6 is somewhat accurate.
Now, OTOH, the illustration goes to the trouble of showing Jehovah on his chariot thingy, along with the angels driving the wheels or whatever. So there's where the argument for Jesus comes in. If you're going to show Jehovah overseeing the GB, then shouldn't you show Jesus? Some have said the Kenny Rogers looking angel is Jesus, but this is inaccurate, because technically speaking again, Jesus is sitting at the right hand of Jehovah, so shouldn't he be up there with Dad? Maybe a somewhat smaller throne, but still in a position higher than the angels in steerage.
And another problem with this arrangement is that it completely ignores the True Christian Congregation arrangement, which is Jesus as head of the congregation, and the 144,000 making up the actual Christian congregation.
So even if the 1 thru 6 is technically accurate as far as the WTS power structure goes, they've managed to throw the rest of the heavenly organizational structure right out the window.

WT to Brethren: "Are you still spreading our recently exposed lies that we were forced to change to save ourselves from utter embarassment? (Watchtower -April 15, 2013 page 9)
by Calebs Airplane inof course, that question was softened up and changed to:.
"is your teaching up-to-date?
" (see illustration on page 9).

By augmenting daily Bible reading with careful mind control techniques, we will be able to help others fall for, and obey, the ever-increasing nonsense that the WTS sheds through their propaganda publications.

New Release for 2013 District Assemblies
by RubaDub inan insider at bethel has confirmed that there will be a new book released this summer at the district assemblies.
the society is using some new technology called "current light.
" it allows them to print the book with certain parts in permanant ink (as has been historically used) while other parts of the book have erasable ink.. as i understand it, sentences that begin with words such as "evidently, apparently, obviously, it appears that, likely, clearly, doubtless" and numerous other phrases will be in a slightly different font so that the "current light" sentences can be easily changed when needed.. for example:.

It IS already true for literature that they post on their website. Presto-chango in the blink of an eye.
Below is a post I made on another thread about the Reasoning book. The old printed Reasoning book is old light, in that it still says that the generation of 1914 will still be around when Armageddon comes. But when the WTS added this book to the new JW.org online library, I fully expected it to be re-written. But it's not. It's still the same as the old printed version.*** rs p. 97 par. 2 Dates ***
Before the last members of the generation that was alive in 1914 will have passed off the scene, all the things foretold will occur, including the “great tribulation” in which the present wicked world will end.—Matt. 24:21, 22, 34.
Blondie quoted that from the Reasoning book. I'm guessing from an older CD copy.
I went to the 'new' JW.org, searched through the 'online library', found the Reasoning book, found pages 93 - 98 (subheading 'Dates') and found the same exact quote:
As shown under the heading “Last Days,” those events have been clearly in evidence since 1914. Before the last members of the generation that was alive in 1914 will have passed off the scene, all the things foretold will occur, including the “great tribulation” in which the present wicked world will end.—Matt. 24:21, 22, 34.
You would've thought that they would have cleaned that up for the 'new' online version, huh?
(wonder how long it takes before they do it now? Hiya, Bethel boys )
