Oh yeah, couple more:
The original Planet of the Apes was good and so was the first sequel, but 3, 4 and 5 were terrible.

no question about it ... there have been some stinkers.
here's e-online's list.

PeeWee Herman's second movie, Big Top PeeWee(or sumthin like that) was just awful. Big Adventure is a classic, but I walked out on the next one.
Another bad one(or two), Somkey and the Bandit II and III. First one is great, the others sucked.
some of you may have figured out who i am... that i am sort of undercover right now with these people.
i just will be posting more of these things as they come, but get a load of this... the article itself is of no real interest... it is their proud reaction to it i am getting at.
they are passing this article around the whole state of virginia.
To help accommodate the Jehovah's Witnesses, Johnson City provides no charge on parking at Freedom Hall, alternate routes to the facility and maps and visitor's guides of the region, Whitson said. Gee, I wonder if the Borg will pass the savings on to the R&F?
I was wondering the same thing. Anybody know anyone in the Johnson City area that can ask a dub if they had to get a parking pass from the WTS?
what are some of the worst ypa articles the wt could print in the awake?
(ie young people ask: how do you use a tampon?
)
Young People Ask: Is Radiohead too depressing for True ChristiansTM? Young People Ask: The White Stripes' new album. Should I buy it?
LOL
Young People Ask: I woke up with a "woodie". Will I die at Armageddon?
thursday, the supreme court overturned the ruling in the 1986 georgia case bowers v hardwick.
in essence the court said that anti-sodomy laws are unconstitutional as they invade the citizen's right to sexual privacy.
how will the wt react?
At present, the secret elders book says that if the elders know a man stayed overnight in the home of a homosexual, he can be disfellowshipped. (Whether they can prove sex took place is not relevant.) Or if a man and woman stay overnight in the same house in "incriminating circumstances" the elders can decide to disfellowship, even in the absence of concrete evidence.
I can see the elders being concerned that a single brother and single sister may have been alone in a house all night, but if both denied any wrongdoing, how can they DF? What happened to the two witness policy?
If a known homosexual stays at my house while his house is being repaired and my wife is out of town, I could be DF'd? Even if I deny anything happened? Where is the two witness rule again?
Being concerned for spirtual welfare is one thing. Being concerned how people might react, knowing that one if not both of the parties is a JW is valid. But if they approach the ones involved and they deny, all the elders can do is read a few scriptures/WT quotes, keep an eye on them for further trouble. Maybe even priviledges taken away, but DFing without proof or admission of guilt doesn't seem right. Can the "secret elders book" policy be confirmed?
Take it a little further: A child accuses an elder of doing terrible things to him. Since there's no witnesses, nothing happens. There's a double standard there. If the two witness rule is binding on pedophile accusations it should be binding on others transgressions.
a number of weeks ago, i mentioned how my niece was seeking reinstatement.
well, after all was said and done, the elders allowed her back in.
my brother and his wife were giving her a little "coming back" party with about a total of 35 guests.
The guest list appeard to be about 35 from what Minimus mentioned. The congregation need not "sanction" such a party; discretion could be used in issuing invitations, etc.
Hell, in some congregations, 35 people would just be family and close friends. That wouldn't even need invitations. Just a few phone calls.
I understood why the hall wasn't supposed to be used as a post office. Some friends invited to parties, while others not invited see the invitations floating around. Of course we should all be adult enough to realize that we can't get invited to every party or gathering, but somebody, somewhere always got upset. Our parties were "private" affairs. Invitation by phone or in person and never discussed(at least loudly) at the hall.
If someone decides to have a party for a reinstated person, they should just invite who they want by phone, mail, etc, keep quiet about it and not seek sanction from anyone.
i have been reading quite a few of these threads and post and through it i feel as though i have come to know some of you and your behaviors.. i notice that there are many of you who are still associated with the hall, and have not left yet... yet, bring up very "strong" points on the board.. i have a question for all of you who fit this description.... why dont you just 'effin leave already?
whats holding you back?
if you feel soooo strongly that this is "wrong" are you too chicken to state your opinion to a family member?
Again, I am not seeking reinstatement. If it comes to that point, so be it, if not, so be it.... but I am not seeking it... so thus your question to me is irrelevant becuase it is based on you thinking that IS what I am trying to do... yet I go with no intention.
How can you question why some go just for family sake, yet you go with "no intention"? Why go at all, if you have no intention? What's making you go? If you're not seeking reinstatement, then it's pretty much a waste of time.
I'm not ridiculing you, by the way. I just curious how you can insinuate that others are not strong enough to walk away when you yourself can't decide one way or the other.

Im not quite sure how welcome I feel here. I thought that this would be a good enviorment for discussion and debate... not for ridicule. Like, wow. I thought Id contribute to the board, post thought provoking questions that may stir the pot a bit, but was not looking for personal attacks.
You have been welcomed, your questions answered. You have had discussion and debates. You have stirred the pot a bit. But most here have not personnally attacked you. Maybe you don't mean it, but your retorts are very troll like. You go for the antagonistic approach but deny that you are trying to be antagonistic.
You can contribute to the board, but don't expect everyone to agree with you on everything everytime. Won't happen. And if you decide to return to being a JW, then you will have all kinds of debates. Some will ridicule you for that. Not all, but some. Like I said earlier, I agree with your open-minded approach and I hope you find what you are looking for. You may or may not find it here. I don't think you will find it with the JWs though.

"Then you will not make a very good JW." Why do you say this? Explain.
Also to address wether or not I will make a good JW... thats not what I am looking for...
You asked for an explanation....you got it.

Stay open minded, not only question your beliefs, but also question yourself to wonder why you are even questioning in the first place, what answer are you seeking.
That's why you won't make a good JW. You can't be open-minded, question your beliefs, yourself or the source of those beliefs if you want to remain in good standing as a JW. Another thing, if you want to remain in good standing, you can't post here. Or even read. Apostates frequent this site and post apostate views. JWs are to avoid apostates and apostate views like the plague.
I personnally agree with your qoute above. I welcome you to the site as you question the beliefs and are looking for answers. Just know that if you try to return as a JW, you will be stripped of this freedom. They will try to break you and program you into their fold as they see fit. Be forewarned.
