Adam and the Dinosaurs
Good name for a punk rock band
here is a fascinating subject.
according to the bible , one of adam's first assignments was to name all the animals including the sea creatures and dinosaurs of course.
we don't know how long this took but, as all witnesses know, the time period is crucial in working out the timing of armageddon).
Adam and the Dinosaurs
Good name for a punk rock band
this is my first post and hopefully i can get some advice and input.
i have been actively involved with the organization for a little over 10 years now.
i began studying in high school, got baptized and my family fortunately did not.
I have asked my COBE to delete me as a ministerial servant and I have made him aware that I don't plan to attend meetings or participate in field service any more. The elders are aware that I had doubts before and that I was planning to leave. It seems as though they are going to allow me to fade away into inactivity as long as I don't disrupt the congregation with apostasy.
Hope it works for you, but don't be surprised if they pull the rug out from underneath. These may be good guy elders, not wanting to push an issue, but when the CO comes along and reviews records, it could all change. You haven't gotten off scot-free. Watch your back trail, don't get complacent, don't expect to skate away unscathed.
dear brothers and sisters,.
considering the end is so near at hand we thought it important for to reiterate that it's absolutely impossible to prove god's "one true organisation" wrong.
there is nothing on heaven or earth that could ever be shown to be false or incorrect in our entire .
It's easy to disprove the WTS's teachings.
What's not easy is getting brainwashed believers to accept the proof and the facts.

Most branches of the military have strict grooming rules. Some large US companies have strict grooming rules. The New York Yankees baseball team doesn't allow facial hair period.
If you're an employee, you can quit. It might not be prudent, depending on the perks of the company, but you won't be shunned for finding another job.
If you're in the military, you don't have to sign back up once your time is done, and again, no one will shun you because you moved on.
If you're a Yankee, you know going in the deal. If it's a deal breaker, you can always sign with the Red Sox. And still the Yankee players won't shun you.
a growing discourse on this forum has been around what "the end" means.
as jws, many here spent varying proportions of our lives waiting for the end when an unsettling realization was that the end that approaches is more likely to be from old age than the world's end.
through the centuries, group after group, has claimed it has "inside" information on the end of the world, drawing in the desperate-for-comfort like moths to flames.
I'll go with 1995 and the 'generation change'. The WTS managed to avoid total ship jumping after 1975, by keeping people fooled with the generation of 1914. Okay, so the end wasn't in 75, but it'll happen in the next 20 or so years. When that doctrine went belly up, I think it sent a ripple through the ranks. Not an outright revolt right away, but a definite sense of urgency was lost. The end was delayed. Why kill ourselves? Let's relax a little. And that allowed other interests in, which detracted from the World Wide Work.
Add to that the Internet, and suddenly all kinds of information and knowledge were at everyone's fingertips, it made it hard to cover up the failings, missed predictions, and downright stupidity of the past.
in this picture from the latest watchtower, what in the world is the guy watching on the left side of the picture??
it looks like a female vampire holding a lightsaber.
am i missing something?.
The pic on the left looks like a movie/video game zombie.
The pic on the right is a zombie.
I logged in just so I could 'like' that comment.
it was the paragraph talking about people who don't want to be j.w's being executed, and it being an act of compassion from jehovah towards his witnesses..
My unbelieving husband was offended by the WatchTower just studied
Any decent person would/should be.
If this Jehovah destroying the wicked to preserve his people was a TV show, then yea, maybe you can make a black and white case for killing the enemies. Not unlike watching The Walking Dead, and getting all exasperated with Jesus (character's name, not the 'real' Son of God) when he doesn't kill the Saviors, but cheering when Daryl takes out their enemies without hesitation. But that's TV. And it's not a real case scenario, it's the imagination of a graphic novel writer and TV writers. It's entertainment.
The WT writers aren't trying to entertain, they indoctrinating their followers to look at the real world in a black and white case. You're either a worshiper of Jehovah, or you're a wicked person, deserving of destruction. A byproduct of that is to occasionally offend a 'wicked' person. Too bad, just shows their heart isn't in the right place. Guess they'll be executed. Jesus (the 'real' one this time) on a white horse or Daryl on a motorcycle. Pick your preferred fairy tale...
spoonfed nomore, has uploaded a video on his youtube site, of exjw activists protesting inside a kingdom hall during this sunday meeting.
several people speak out.
if some one can put a link on here that would be awesome, i can’t figure out how to do it with an i phone.
I can not fathom why anyone who managed to leave this religion behind would want to waste their time 'infiltrating' a KH meeting.
I don't like this religion. I still have family in, and can't get them out. But I have to continually remind myself of this fact: Everyone has a right to their own beliefs/religion. If someone so chooses to be a JW, then so be it. I can't change that religion anymore than I can change the Catholic church, nor do I care to even try. If logic and reasoning does not convince someone that maybe their belief system is faulty, then I leave them be.
Waste your time playing cloak and dagger if you want, I'll be home watching NFL football. A much better use of my time.
as a witness i always found a way to not have to embarrass myself by sitting down for the national anthem.. i’m curious.
how many of you stood up for the patriotic song?.
Growing up, we did not stand for the Pledge of Allegiance or the National Anthem.
As a 2nd grader, when they still did the PoA every morning, I was the only kid in class to not stand (was the only JW kid in that school actually). Until one day we had a substitute teacher. When I didn't stand, she grabbed me and tried to force me to stand. She held my by my elbow, forcing me out of my desk. I let my legs go limp and I hung there like a wet noodle. I never told my parents, but today I see lawsuits over similar instances.
When I was older, I planned my route to my seat at ball games and other events to miss the NA, so I wouldn't be obvious in my refusing to stand.
Now that I'm free of that indoctrination, I still do not Pledge Allegiance, avoiding the Nationalistic indoctrination. I do stand at both the PoA and NA, respectfully, quietly, removing any cap/hat I may have, but I do not sing or pledge. I am not blindly patriotic to any nation or government. I learned my lesson being blindly loyal to a religious organization. Won't make that mistake again.
up until the very end, my mother refused blood.
it didn't matter if it was a blurred line or not, the bible says "no blood"!
i wonder if she was in the minority, in her thinking.
All of them. They are all prepared to take it in whatever form the GB say is OK.
I dunno... my mother, when filling out a blood card (this was a few years ago, when we actually spoke of JW matters still), refused to check the boxes that allowed for certain fractions. I reminded her that it was okay to accept these fractions according to the WTS, and she should check the boxes, but she said something to the effect of, 'it's best not to test the boundaries, but to be cautious when giving doctors permission in regards to blood'.
So even when they allowed fractions, she wouldn't bend on the previous application of 'no blood, no how, no way'
