Its more misleading than lying I suppose. However when you are a religious institution based on truth and calling your way of worship the "truth", yet you are purposely trying to mislead others... it is as if you are lying. LOL

A new lesson from Caleb's mom...
by cedars in...totally freak out and drop something if your child fails to say "please.".
http://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/family/children/become-jehovahs-friend/videos/please-thank-you/.
the woman is clearly a nervous wreck, and very easily offended.. if this is her reaction to caleb forgetting his manners, i shudder to think how she will cope if she ever finds him doing drugs.. .

I am waiting for the installment 6 years from now when she walks in on him chocking the monkey with a dirty tennis sock.
I wonder if she will let him finish or just cut him off mid-stroke? Must see T.V.

Have The Witnesses Changed All That Much In The Last Few Years?
by minimus inwhen i was in it, especially as a young person, it was rules oriented but not like it is now.
to me, the religion is a lot more fanatical than ever before....what do you think?
is it the same religion even as it was 20 years ago?.

Current witnesses have no idea what they believe or have any desire to study anything deeply. This is why all of these radical changes don't cause many people to leave like the 1975 days. If they said the system will end in 2015 and it doesn't I think that most just wouldn't care. They probably wouldn't even know it was in the watchtower rag. My sister was baptized a year ago and told me she hasn't read one magazine completely since the day she got baptized...
Look at the publications they are raised on the Knowledge book... the god's word... the freaking require brochure. The baptismal questions don't even have to be answered correctly ROFL. I was brought up with the You can live forever book which was still light. But atleast the bookstudy had topic heavy books that made you actually do some research. We were not told to give comments 30 seconds or less.
The org is like a fast food church. Get in get out and go home and enjoy the rest of your day

I think I am more excited by the fact that my wife has just decided to do this on her own.
She says, "Look at this *expletive*... I decide to look at one magazine after 3 months to see where these *expletives* heads are at and look what I find. What a crock of *expletive*.
I like it when she cusses LOL

my wife said,"when I was in college every quote in anything I read was always verified for accuracy. Yet somehow when dealing with issues that concerned my life I never saw the need to do the same. It is kinda sad"

Yes that was very funny. I am wondering why the borg members can see these things yet never ask, "Why are they lying"

Watchtower July 2013 says: "
HOW DO JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES MEASURE UP?
Jehovah’s Witnesses “promote strong family ties and develop productive and honest citizens,” states The Deseret News of Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S.A. The newspaper added: “Members believe in a strong moral code. They believe smoking, overdrinking, drug misuse, gambling, sexual promiscuity and homosexuality are spiritually damaging practices.”
The paper actually says, "B eliefs are based on the principles found in the Holy Bible, leaders say, and they view first-century Christianity as their model. They believe living Bible principles give purpose to life, promote strong family ties and develop productive and honest citizens.
Here's a capsule look at some other key Jehovah's Witnesses doctrines and beliefs:
- Members believe in a strong moral code. They believe smoking, overdrinking, drug misuse, gambling, sexual promiscuity and homosexuality are spiritually damaging practices. They teach honesty and good work habits. Members can be disfellowshipped for serious un-Christian conduct — such as theft, drunkenness and adultery — but these people are not shunned and can continue to attend church meetings.

I can deal with the letters... I just simply do not plan to read them anymore because it makes me angry that these people have such a hold on someones mind. It is freaking ridiculous.
My wife is fine she is with me so I am good. I have already received calls from my elders wanting to meet with me. I won't return them because they do not deserve me answering their questions. They will receive no respect from me whatsoever.
The funny thing is if she left me as her surrogate and she truly didn't want blood... I would respect it. Regardless of how assinine the decision is to avoid blood, if that is her belief I would respect it. After leaving Watchtower I have come to see that doing things out of respect for peoples freedom to choose is far more Christlike then doing something because some old haggard men make the command
