  Why is God speaking in riddles?

  it seems for most of the bible that god spoke directly to people and told them what to do.

  he wrote things on rocks.

  he gave them laws.

  It seems for most of the bible that god spoke directly to people and told them what to do. He wrote things on Rocks. He gave them laws. Then the New testament comes around and everything seems good for a while and then BAM... riddles.

  No one wants to tell you anything directly. It's like you have to guess at things or wait for someone else to tell you what they think he might have meant based upon an idea they had while they were sipping on some Merlot... I am beginning to find this funny - and also wonder why it took so long for me to just wake up.

  Even when you look at the New testament for the most part Jesus speaks directly - so does Paul, but people start with all this guess work. Turning simple Parables into enigmas that only an elite few can somehow deceipher.

  WHY WOULD GOD WANT TO DO THIS INSTEAD OF JUST TELLING PEOPLE WHAT HE WANTS?

  It just seems like so much time is wasted trying to figure out mysteries that man seems to have invented out of the simpliest texts of the bible. Didn't someone say be good to your neighbors / widows and fatherless boys - that was like the simplest formula. What is with all this other stuff? Calculations? Days for years added to some obscure events?

  It gets tiring and seems like a God that really loved people wh=ould not be in to this type of gaming.

  Bethel doesn't look after it's own

  it's not only springsteen's latest song that is inaccurate, but bethel certainly doesn't look after it's own.. i know it's very easy for us to what to criticise bethel after our experiences, but if we are reasonable with the wbts and approach this with an open mind, can we conlude it's fair how bethelites are treated?.

  i know with any company if an employee breaks the rules, they have to leave.

  being fair, i can't wave a finger at bethel for telling those who break rules, sin, etc., to leave.

  so after our incident today i let some time pass so as not to kill the mood and bring up all the annoying watchtower stuff.

  however i said, "babe seriously, i know you were upset about the other issue but you seem to just never want to even think about borg stuff again!

  i am glad - don't get me wrong - but so i can reall understand please tell me what was it that made youjust wash your hands clean so fast?".

  The funny thing is she was never the type of person I would expect to care about details like that. She always seemed to me to be somethign of a hanger on in the JW borg. Just going with the flow.

  Her response is one that I should have expected from a woman... she said, "they freaking lied... and I can't stand a liar".

  So I asked what particular lie it was. She said that all the stuff I showed her made her uncomfortable and that the IVF thing was just ridiculous and made her hate things... but when she saw the fact that we have said for years that Russell predicted the 1914 stuff and then saw in print that it wasn't true she felt utterly betrayed.

  She says she has no reason to ever go back to another meeting or read a publication because it is obvious that there is nothing special there, just another group of people who lie to get control of people. She doesn't need to do any research or even bother hearing anyone out because anyone who can accept outright lies from those suppose to be helping you is an idiot!

  That was the end of the conversation. Never have to speak about it again!

  Invitro Fertilization - the article said that if a husband and a wife were not able to have children and decided to go to a fertility doctor and he takes sperm from the hubby and the egg from the wife and placed them into a surrogate that they have committed pornea and would be disfellowshipped.

  The compared it to Onan I believe or something... I can't remember because reading it was such a joke it was incredible. We have had our kids already so we wouldn't run into this issue. It was just appauling to her that they can make these types of rules and no one asks why.

  I am sure that everyone we know will shun us in our congos but believe it or not with alll the years I have been in the truth and the myriads of people I know I have 0 friends. Being a witness made it impossible for me to cultivate any friendships. The only people that will hurt are my mother and father but I will deal with it.

  She is fine because all of her family for the most part were never witnesses so she doesnn't really care

  She left the borg once before because she wanted to go to college - then she came back and decided to try and do the right thing. So she keeps saying, "It's nothing new for me - I just won't be back this time..."

  Truthfully she was diehard for a while but that article on IVF a few months back made her irrate. Like foaming at the mouth angry and she expressed it to a few people and they all acted like she was the insane one.

  One thing I can say - I'm glad I got her. What is even funnier is that after it happened she just went to go chill like nothing happened. She is watching rerun episodes of sienfeld ... go figure

  So over the last 5 - 7 months as some may know I have resigned as an elder and just came to a cold stop going to the meetings. Brothers call I wont answer the phone. If they come by I just wont answer the door. Well this morning as me and the wife are sitting in the kitchen the door bell rings, she says "OK I am finally sick of this *#&*"!

  I had no clue that she was really this fed up - she jumps out the chair and low and behold its the secretary... He says,"Hi.. sis - Just wanted to come by since you guys have been missing for so long". She says in an annoyed tone - "We haven't been missing we have been right here avoiding your annoying attempts to appear to care about us! We were superstars when you thought you had a new elder in the hall and now that he is not you don't really care about him - you just want to appear that you care when you really don't give a rats ass!"

  She slammed the door literally and went in the family room to watch TV. I can only imagine the talk this is going to cause LOL

  I love this woman
