I really see why the term woman scorned is so true...
It is almost scary
so over the last 5 - 7 months as some may know i have resigned as an elder and just came to a cold stop going to the meetings.
brothers call i wont answer the phone.
if they come by i just wont answer the door.

@DD - When I stepped aside she saw that I was getting sick and worn out and she supported that but she did not initially support my decision to stop going altogether. I do remember her asking me one day if she died and I remarried and our children were still young how would we raise them together. Would she be out of luck and the new wife get the priveledge or would it be some weird spiritual shared custody thing. All the answers seemed bad to her. I told her (on purpose to evoke emotion) that since she died and the marriage bond ends at death that no doubt she would be S^#T out of luck. This troubled her badly.
Then the IVF thing... no woman should be able to read that and not see the insanity of this org and the rules.
Then we also had the denial of going to the international convention - but some newly appointed pioneer got to go. She was mad
Then she said at the circuit why do they always have examples of people pioneering and super elders instead of people who struggle on a daily basis to get to the meetings and serve god.
Its like the questions just started flowing. There has to be one thing for her that is a trigger that starts the flood gates. One thing I noticed though is while she was going and I was not I would always ask her about the meeting and how it was. There was always some form of complaint. I stored them in my head and brought them up at the most convienent of times.
I pray your wife comes around - because it makes the ordeal of leaving more of a trip.
it seems for most of the bible that god spoke directly to people and told them what to do.
he wrote things on rocks.
he gave them laws.
@punk LOL "little boys"
@Xan - Its funny the more I look outside the Middle East they seem to also have very rich cultures and religious beliefs with similar sentiments as those taught in the bible. Sometimes they are even more well-rounded.
Which also connects to the thought that I have always had as to why god would only care about peopel in this small area for thousands of years and not give a crap about the 6 other continents with people on them? It woud seem if they all got off the ark and went seperate ways their thoughts on god would have some levels of similarity ya know

[endif]i had a diner with the neighbors... they don't know i'm a jw cause i don't tell people anymore about it.
somehow, the topic of cults came up and one of my neighbors said that the jw require 10% of their income to go to the church.
I was chillin with my neighbors and the topic of Religion came up. One made some deragotory comments about witnesses and I simply said, "I was one for 30 plus years - they are crazy but what you just said aint true and laughed out loud.... they laughed as well and we talked about it for 10 minutes then moved on. They weren't upset at all. I wasn't either and we just let it slide." Sometimes it is best to just fess up and move on.

That was no doubt because they did not think about it, it was a passing fancy.
There was 0 need for anyone at jesus feet to have to spend hours trying to figure out those simple parables in the scriptures. Everyone of them is easily understood by a person who reads them from the scriptures today. Anyone who wanted to understrand them could do so by a simply thinking about what Jesus was saying.
There was no need to cross reference anything Jesus spoke with 15 different scrolls, and then apply mysterious dates and hidden meanings to any of it. Which I am sure you are well aware of

@seraph - Jesus never spoke in riddles. Parables are the type of thing that if you are not willing to sit and listen to you will not understand. As in being to busy to put aside 45 seconds to listen to what the person is saying. Being to busy or occupied to be enlightened.
Jesus parables did not deal with numerology... and guesswork... and links to other bible books concerning info from another bible linked to events 2000 years later. They WERE SIMPLE. You just had todevote the time to sit and listen to it completely
wt research is now published that shows how noah build the immense ark to withstand all these overwhelming stresses.
it was glued, cementet together like the most modern composite aircraft components.
of the 20 joints visible in the picture, not one has a fastener, dowel, nail, screw, bolt, not even a clamp to hold the thing together while the glue sets ????
Can you please post the exact wording of this section pleeeeeeeeease

It seems for most of the bible that god spoke directly to people and told them what to do. He wrote things on Rocks. He gave them laws. Then the New testament comes around and everything seems good for a while and then BAM... riddles.
No one wants to tell you anything directly. It's like you have to guess at things or wait for someone else to tell you what they think he might have meant based upon an idea they had while they were sipping on some Merlot... I am beginning to find this funny - and also wonder why it took so long for me to just wake up.
Even when you look at the New testament for the most part Jesus speaks directly - so does Paul, but people start with all this guess work. Turning simple Parables into enigmas that only an elite few can somehow deceipher.
WHY WOULD GOD WANT TO DO THIS INSTEAD OF JUST TELLING PEOPLE WHAT HE WANTS?
It just seems like so much time is wasted trying to figure out mysteries that man seems to have invented out of the simpliest texts of the bible. Didn't someone say be good to your neighbors / widows and fatherless boys - that was like the simplest formula. What is with all this other stuff? Calculations? Days for years added to some obscure events?
It gets tiring and seems like a God that really loved people wh=ould not be in to this type of gaming.
it's not only springsteen's latest song that is inaccurate, but bethel certainly doesn't look after it's own.. i know it's very easy for us to what to criticise bethel after our experiences, but if we are reasonable with the wbts and approach this with an open mind, can we conlude it's fair how bethelites are treated?.
i know with any company if an employee breaks the rules, they have to leave.
being fair, i can't wave a finger at bethel for telling those who break rules, sin, etc., to leave.
Lyman swingle... When I was there he came down to Saturday morning breakfasts with a kimono...
I also remember at lunch time he came in once... Picked up an entire tray of hello and then left
so after our incident today i let some time pass so as not to kill the mood and bring up all the annoying watchtower stuff.
however i said, "babe seriously, i know you were upset about the other issue but you seem to just never want to even think about borg stuff again!
i am glad - don't get me wrong - but so i can reall understand please tell me what was it that made youjust wash your hands clean so fast?".
thanks everyone... Means alot to hear positive comments.
the person who says they can't understand one being stumbled is just mimicing that dumb article that a righteous person can't be stumbled I am supposing
