Question about the fade
by The Big Machine ini know there are a lot of threads on here about fading and i've read a lot of them, but i have a question that i haven't found the answer to yet.. what would happen if you move to a new congregation (or at least tell your old congregation that you are moving and to have your records moved), and you don't go to any meetings?
i see lots of the fading strategies say to go to some meetings and show your face until your name is announced.
what exactly happens if you don't go to meetings in the new congregation?.

GB Permits Texas Two-Step on Kingdom Hall Stage, etc.
by TakeOffTheCrown inthe governing body not writing their own articles is on this thread: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/370640004/gb-providing-food-helpers-write-articles?size=10&page=1.
but, something more sinister, more serious is taking place in the congregations.
the governing body have allowed very disturbing activities to take place in the kingdom halls and during the conventions.

Supposedly all the "Dancing at the Hall" moves were in celebration of the International Conventions as a Welcome to the delegates.
Makes you wonder what dubs from other countries thought about desecrating jehoober's house this way???

Just be sure not to give out your new address and you might want to change your cell phone numbers so you can't be reached. -

Wow, so much anger bottled up in one person.
Anyway, thanks for the thread, Morph. It's always interesting for the old r&f to hear the truth of life as wt slaves. Sad that some still want to go there as they only see the shiny veneer from their don't-go-to-disney-come-here tours.

Alex, hope life is going well for you. I missed your first post so Welcome!!
Growing up I was not a jw, but always felt like "religious" people had something or knew something better than me. It was still a big time for church-going so it seemed that everyone knew some secret that I didn't have a clue about, and it somehow made me "less than".
Sadly, those feelings played right into the jw indoctrination program/"bible study" so that I dived in completely. Some of my family was "in" so I felt like I finally belonged. Tried to do everything right, studied hard, raised my kids as dubs, pioneered, moved to serve "where the need was great", etc.
But I still came up empty. Because when it was all said and done, and I'd done everything the way it was dictated from the wts, life wasn't glorious and wonderful after all. It was like finding out that "god's mouthpiece" was really the little man behind the green curtain in the Wizard of Oz.
Once I realized they were phony (there was just no way that a god of love, reason, compassion as represented by jesus could be so cruel, heartless, power-hungry and greedy), I just couldn't keep up the charade and walked away.
After a time of venting the anger over wasting my life and doing this to my kids, I started to read (gasp) worldly books about other religions and beliefs. There was so much commonality in the belief systems, I realized it all came down to your personal core beliefs. So I had to figure out what I thought was right without having a structured group tell me. I had to develop my own belief system.
I like to say I am spiritual but not religionist. I can't say that I still believe in a mystical guy in the sky because there's way too much scientific evidence to the contrary. It did take courage to go out on my own without my family and figure out what I needed to be happy in a spiritual way, and I don't think that journey will ever stop. But watching people drive to churches and pray over their meals and post comments on fb about jesus and god bless -- those things make me shake my head. It's ritual that provides comfort, but it's living in a box that someone else defined and designed.
Give yourself the freedom to explore, and the permission to not feel guilty. I have a feeling you're going to figure it all out pretty soon, and I imagine you'll be one of the happiest guys around because you have the heart and the brains to find peace within yourself.
Hugs to you and your loved ones,
cBg

Fisherman sez: You are a moron Morpheus. I kindly PM you privately and you broadcast what was not meant for others. You are a real Twirp. Enough said about you. I will never respond to you again. What a dope you are.I cannot believe how they could ever allow an imbecile like you in Bethel.
Fisherman, I have to ask some questions:
1. How is it that you believe you have any credibility when your response to every disagreement here is name-calling? Are you not aware that throwing dirt at others just means the ground you are standing on is shaky?
2. If you are honorable and smarter than [most] everyone posting here, why is it that you promised never to respond to Morpheus again yet there are pages and pages of verbal jousting where you are doing exactly that?
No one here knows your real identity (that I'm aware of), and none of us are trying to find out (except for lurking elders or bethelites), so why the need to be so vehement? Please, if you are so quick to take offense, consider why you are so unhappy with yourself. Lashing out at others is a sign of frustration, not reasonableness. Go find something that makes you happy and brings you peace.

Lots of hardcore dubs will loyally stay away from "apostate" sites, but sites such as this will continue to encourage and support the thousands who have doubts and those who've been damaged by the borg. Thanks again to Simon and all the hardworking ones who make these wonderful life-saving sites of refuge. -

Can someone explain to me ......
by notoneoftheboys ini was never told before i got baptised that i would loose my family if i got disfellowshipped.. no one told me i would get disfellowshipped if i had a blood transfusion.
no one told me that the gb was all powerful and tolerate no dissention.
that if i spoke to a d/f person i would get disfellowshipped.. no one told me in my marriage bed there were rules if broken d/f shipping resulted.. i was told my brothers would die or care for me.

And Fisherman cannot understand why he has so few friends here. Personally, I've always found that people trying to defend the indefensible resort to name-calling when they are countered with logic.
- There are no "layoffs" from B in spite of what some uninformed morons like to believe.
- Most people that posted about this, don't know what they are talking about, cannot read , or are deliberately posting bunk.
- You need to learn how to think or read (read DD post) maybe you should shut up and listen to those who know and learn something instead of arguing for the sake of arguing.
- Try thinking instead of asking stupid questions.
- Listen Einstein, didn't you read my post explaining the difference between layoffs and firing?
- Another mental defective.
- There is no reduction in work force, dummy.
- Another dummy.
