Painful as it was to hear these men stubbornly refuse to entertain any logical thought, this just reaffirmed how right I was to get out of jwackoville. -

MyName...nothing is more important than your son and his future. Please don't take a backseat by saying "they are controlling the situation". Your son certainly notices when you don't stand up to protect him, and if you allow another man to take charge (and it is your choice)...your son will respect the other man instead of you.
It really is your choice to decide how this plays out.

Good to some media coverage is being given to the fear-mongering that amounts to emotional child abuse. -

How is Joe Publisher reacting to all the TV coverage on the abuse cases?
by 4thgen inplease pardon if this a repeated topic.
i have had virtually no contact with any witnesses beside my mother for the past few years.
she watches tv constantly and claims she has never seen anything on the watchtower abuse cases.

Why do religious people make claims and then refuse to back them up?
by Viviane inseveral times over the past few months i have had conversations, both here and in real life, with religious people making all sorts of interesting and conflicting claims.
i like to know how things work, so generally i will ask questions to net out what i am being told and see if it can be explained and make sense.. for instance, if someone said 2+2=4 and i asked how, there are a variety of ways that could be shown to me, a number line, physical objects being put together, counting on fingers and toes, etc.
indeed, in my personal life, i often have to explain how certain technologies work, sometimes planned, sometimes off the cuff, from a variety of group sizes to a varying degree of technical expertise.

Have to agree with Maat on this one...many folks are content with their lives as jdubs. They might have the skills to reason, but they are not in a position where they WANT to use those skills. Some folks need to belong to a group, and are not unhappy about being labeled as JW.
Who are we to disagree?
Just because we don't agree, and it doesn't make sense to us (and maybe not even to them), it is their choice.
Life is much better spent with a smile on our face and with a happy heart rather than being in turmoil over the choices of others. If they want to live a different lifestyle, they'll decide to do it when they are ready...just like we did.

Do you feel bad throwing away literature?
by stuckinarut2 inso do you feel bad throwing away your old literature?.
what about your old song book or bible from your early days in the org?.
if so, is it because of sentimentality, monetary cost or because it might be 'sacred' ?.

At first I felt somewhat guilty but then it turned to pride that they had no control over me anymore.
The only thing I now regret about tossing it is that I had lots of older books which they've hidden from view, but would be so useful to prove how dramatically they've twisted and turned their "teachings".

Blondie, I remember hearing that same statement. Along those lines we were told that it would be much too confusing for those who lived centuries ago to suddenly be thrust into the world with electricity, airplanes and automobiles. Yet I never saw those things in wt renderings of "paradise" so that didn't make sense.
Sometimes I think they have new ideas in a few talks to see if they stick. If not, you don't hear them again, they just try something else that doesn't raise so many questions.

Decided to sign up...
by campaign of hate inso i decided to sign up after many years of lurking.
started researching after finding out about ray franz, which inevitably brought me to this site.. i'm still well and truly inn, but don't want to give any information out, i'm sure you guys know the reasons.. since "jay double you .
org" came online, there has been a definite sense of hysteria with everyone who is "inn", and i get a feeling it's going to get a whole lot crazier as the years press on.. one point i would like to raise is that i feel, without a doubt, that 2034 is going to be the new finish line.

CoH, welcome aboard! We are seeing many new posters so even if you can't physically leave, it's heart-warming to know that you and many others have awakened from the wt nonsense. Hopefully you'll be able to plant little seeds of truth and save more dear ones from the crazy, nonproductive lifestyle that is the bOrg. -

Awesome movie: "THE GIVER". This is a MUST WATCH for witnesses and those breaking free from the WT!!!
by stuckinarut2 inyou have to watch the movie "the giver"!
it is simply an awesome movie for every thinking witness, or those trying to break free from the org's hold on us.. i wont give away too much, but the concept of the film is mind blowing!
utopia vs reality etc... conformity vs individuality and humanity... etc.
