Reflecting on my Disfellowshipping
by kairos intoday is the day.. i was baptized as one of jehovah's witnesses on march 25th 1989.disfellowshipped for admitted apostasy today, september 10th 2015.. what an amazing story we all share.
how did we get involved with this group and think this was the best way of life?.
i asked my wife to stay home from the meeting tonight and spend the evening with me.she is.... we celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary this past monday.. i must admit, i never saw any of this coming, but it couldn't have come sooner.i'm free of all the fake friendships.

If the elders were abused sexually this problem would have been taken care of long time ago.
by Still Totally ADD ini feel the real problem with the wt cult concerning child abuse is it happens to children not adult men.
notice i didn't say adult women because they don't care about adult women either.
i remember a c.o.

First, ADD, I totally agree that their misogyny is the reason women and children are treated like trash.
Second, I totally agree that the term "child abuse" is deliberately used to soften the image of the horrific trauma suffered by children when they are brutally RAPED by men.
Rape is not sexual. Rape is a power and control tool used by those who have no sense of self-worth.
While it's true that many rapists (abusers is too soft) have themselves been victimized, it does not excuse the continued pattern of behavior. Only when horrible crimes are exposed and labeled as such can change begin in any society.

The Heartless JW
by babygirl30 insoooo...i have recently been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, and am scared out of my mind.
in a weak moment, i called my parents and my mom answered.
i start crying as i tell her about my disease, and this woman says to me:.

So sorry to hear of your pain, I have great empathy for you. This may sound harsh, but cry loads of tears and move on because you can't change the situation, as much as it pains you to experience your mom's coldness. I'm not df'd or da'd but reversely experienced the same cold and unloving behavior from my daughter who has been dragged deep into the borg mind-mud. No light comes in, no ability to think and reason, just a blind follower of a cult she believes to be a religion. Your mom is the same. She isn't really heartless, it's just that the brainwashing is so very thorough and the isolation so very intense, rays of humanity find it difficult to poke through. I am battling every day to unconditionally love this person who denies me, the woman who gave her life. It's extremely tough to function if I even give it thought, so mostly I can't think about it as it's just too painful. My advice to you is to do the same, because thinking about it is continually cutting open a wound that will never truly heal. I'm hoping you find the best way to live with your illness, which is what you need to focus on now, so please turn all your attention to loving yourself and pushing away the negative emotions as they will make it harder to cope. Many hugs for you, babygirl

You have to love how they referenced only "the watchtower" and not the bible. Many people view jws as a cult precisely for this reason. And yet the jws themselves are blinded. So sad. -

Could "this generation" inspire a new "1975 debacle"?
by Island Man ini think that it's possible that they're getting ready to issue a new end time date insinuation like they did with 1975. now i know what some of you are probably thinking: why would they be so stupid as to repeat such a mistake, knowing what happened in 1975?
well here're two reasons why i think they could do it:.
first, it's important to remember that they are deluded.

I think the jdubs of today are much less likely to actually THINK about anything the wts spews out. They are not the researchers, bible scholars, and critical thinkers of years past. They are the We All Belong To The Coolest Club On Earth! jdubs. The fence-sitters are peeling off as evidenced by the growth on this site, but the mainstream rank-and-file don't question a dang thing put out by the gb.
If the gb said it the trib was going to happen in 2050, not one of them would question it. They would immediately begin thinking about how cool it was that they were living in the Greatest Time on Earth! It would be a cause for celebration and proof that their illustrious leaders are actually appointed by jehoober himself! And it would keep them revved up for another three decades. Then when nothing happened, the gb would again just say, "oh, we never actually used that date".
And several more real generations will be lost. Including one of my kids.

TV.JW.ORG (September 2015) - Generation explained again
by Designer Stubble inguess the overlapping generation concept is difficult for most to comprehend.
david spane does his best to explain it again.
the cutoff date for this generation has now moved to 1992 (was once 1935), the year that fred franz died.

the few i know only speak of "manning the cart" at some public location, and because they get defensive if i even ask an innocent question like this i thought i'd ask it on the forum.
