Now...................as to the "older publications". If there is no newer publication on the subject matter, then the elders are bound to use the older publications as their reference point.
The reasoning? Well, there's been no New Light - so the old publication must be the Current Light.

I think the only thing this old article shows is the consistency of the WTBTS toward women as victims and keeping them truly in the dark about what will happen to them in a JC.
Naaaaaaaaaaa, I think the WTBTS's view of women is that they were created inferior to men, ate The Fruit, caused The Downfall of Adam.............and entice men into raping them.
Thus, the women make themselves victims. Of course, this WT thinking has progressed over the years....in some areas.
Btw, you do know that the WTBTS changed the Old Light of screaming during a rape? Well, new, old, new, old, new, old, new, old. I think about 11/12 or more times. A woman could get df'd or not depending upon which year she was raped.
The women who failed to scream during the Not OK Not To Scream years? Well, they were never re-instated because of the WTBTS changing doctrine. Why? Because they THOUGHT they were sinning, so therefore, they were. (The WTBTS is never wrong on a doctrine.)
Btw, the Catholic Church uses this identical thinking for sinning. If you THINK you sinned - you did. Therefore, even when it's not a sin.......it's a sin.

let's do some speculative thinking about the watchtower's future!.
suppose some holes are legally poked thru the watchtower's actions on disfellowshipping,.
whether in the us or other countries.
I think the WTBTS can be changed.
1. Legal cases that will eventually win.
2. Public knowledge of what the Jehovah's Witnesse are really like.
3. Growth of the internet & computer use, particularily in 3rd world nations.
4. Education.
5. Taxation of religion.
As for df'ing? Agreed - the locals find it much easier to discredit than to credit someone. It's encouraged by the elders. The *marking* strategy never went over too well........because people were *marking* people all the time. Then the markers were smugly tellings others why they *privately marked* the other person....who usually didn't have a clue.

i got 2 replies to my letters this morning.
one was from my local mp saying he had passed my letter to another minister and the foreign and commonwealth office are investigating to see if its an appropriate issue to raise, and the other was from the wbts of britain.
the letter reads as below, and i would appreciate your comments on it, and some good qoutes to include in a reply.. .

I'm under the impression - by knowledgeable posters here ......not paying is not an option open for Vicki. The Courts & IRS are like that.....one pays. On another thread, it was shown that under Canadian Law, even if one declares bankruptcy - court costs follow them til they're paid. In the USA - the IRS is like that too, perhaps even Courts.
And something here makes me feel very bad, because in fact the money is dedicated go to in the WTBS wallet finally!!! And will help them to pay lawyers to victimise twice. That is why in paying, in fact she will help them somehow. In knowing that their lawyers should work for free (for god) or they know what they are doing and we have to realised that they work for money either way for themselves or the WTBS !!!
By sending money to Vicki - she might also spend it on groceries. And yes, the money she originally might have spent on groceries ends up paying the WTBTS. So..............we shouldn't help her - or others we might want to help?
This is old WTBTS thinking! We were told not to donate to the Red Cross because we don't know where that money would end up.....we could be helping victims of floods, etc........or we could be paying for blood transfusions. God Forbid! So most of us just didn't donate - and kept our money - and we didn't help flood victims, etc.
$140,000 is much to us - and to Vicki & Scott. It's not much to the WTBTS. It's a statement to them.
If we can unite to help victims fight the WTBTS - then I'll unite too. It just makes sense. Look forward to looking at a plan. It's not been accomplished before to my knowledge.

lol! I didn't realize that it was an AWAKE magazine! Well, I stand by my statement - the writer IS a religious fool.
But - remember that this article was written 29 YEARS ago! Even the WTBTS has changed it's tune to sexual criminals. Slowly, usually after it costs them money and/or publicity.........but the WTBTS can be made to change.

Especially and specifically blameworthy are those female relatives, such as an aunt or even a mother , who have used boys as sexual playthings, thereby starting them on a road that leads to their having aggressive feelings toward women.
Would have been an accurate statement - IF the fool had qualifed his statement.
A woman who abuses a child (whether boy or girl) CAN cause emotional/physical/mental damage to that child. We know this.
That sexually abused child CAN act out violently against other humans/animals/themselves. We know this.
But ALL abuse victims do NOT become rapists/sexual abusers. And we know this too.
Other than the above statement which WOULD have been accurate.........the writer's a fool.....and/or highly religious, imho.
