The Court Jester, Danny Kaye
OK:
"It had a name...TWO names."
Dunno, Teejay. This is a tough one for me. I've always believed similar to Danni, but lately I have come to think the TRUE unconditional love is the one that says:
"I don't want to change you, improve you, make you into my idea of your 'potential.' I love you not inspite of your flaws, but because of them. I love you for who you are right here, right now."
No repairs, no fix-up, no grooming...just complete acceptance.
How great would that be?
just saw this episode on the dvd collection.
the nostradamus section was quite funny, especially when penn takes the song "the wheels of the bus go 'round and 'round", converts it into latin, and then uses it as prophecy of future events, like the great english train robbery, the montgomery bus boycott, and watergate.. they also showcased a nostradamus "scholar", who changed a page in a book from 1st edition to second edition when the ayatollah khomeini died before becoming the anti-christ.
does that sound familiar, changing pages in a book from one edition to the next?.
I absolutely LOVE this show! I discovered it on cable, and later rented whatever was available on Netflix. The chapter on the Bible was especially interesting. Highly recommended.
was it just me or did it seem each year when halloween rolled around, jws would always say "boy, seems like more and more people are celibrating halloween this year" and everyone in the cargroup would nod their heads in agreement.
this was soon followed by a discussion how this was sure another sign that satan was hard at work and that the end of the system was near.
just something i was thinking about earlier today as the kids and i skipped church and put some finishing touches on our scary halloween decorations.
Weather was clear and dry here. Not too many kids, but they were dressed cute. Each one got a candy treat and a wrapped, new toothbrush. They seemed excited by the extra "perk".
Nice to stay home and not hide out in a pizza parlor as in the past.
my son is in a school for smart kids.
they call it "challenge".
he is in 2nd grade, just turned 8 last month.
Yes, Rachel, it is the same dentist. He decided to become the "dentist's dentist" and was quite successful in doing just that. Dentists fly in from all over the country to have him do their cosmetic work. I took some courses from him.
The office is amazing; check out the web-site for a virtual tour.
He does pronounce his name "Rize".
PS: Adults who cannot spell their way out of a wet paper bag should not be so quick to comment on a child's spelling mistakes.

If I may go a bit off topic:
Rhys is an interesting name. Can you tell me the origin? FYI, there is a pricey boutique dentist in downtown Seattle (in the Columbia Tower) with that same name. I had never heard it before.

i happen to think quite a few intelligent people have cornered the market on certain information.. when you are around other intelligent people you find in talking with them that you are incredibly more well informed about certain subjects than other people are.
in fact, you might know things that nobody else knows anything about.. tell me what it is that you know.. i have some really quirky things i know.
but, what do you know that sets you apart?
I'm certainly not telling! If I told what I know, then everybody would know, and I wouldn't be the only one to know what I know, you know?
.
i have an extra ticket if anybody on the board is interested in going with me.
unfortunately i'm the only joe satch fan i know (in my area) and i *really* don't want to go to the show by myself..
Absolutely LOVE Satriani!!! Saw him live in Seattle at the Moore Theater, a very intimate venue.
His guitar not-so-gently weeps.
