  When you are a born-in, you have no field of reference to determine if it is right or wrong. You just naturally trust your parents and the elders in your congregation. It was your normal.   Very well said. Few of us are raised into families or

  social environments, free of bias. Insight is rare.

  And that goes for atheists as well, who are insistant upon

  their own view and the belief they are "enlightened".

  Some go from being a WT elder and advocate to being

  determined to destroy all ideas about God and you will

  find them here, bashing anything remotely connected to

  God, scriptures, or faith of any kind. They have been called,

  evangelical atheists, although they hate the term. A true

  atheists would not even be here at all. They are destroyers

  and their purpose is to mock and disrupt and attack.

  For no purpose, except to advance thier own opinion.

  Been asked to share my experience at church!!

  my vicar asked me if i and another lady would like to say a few words about our faith journey.. she said my story was a particular powerful one, what with the da'ing and subsequent shunning.

  i can also choose a hymn or christian song.. i was thinking of romans 8:38, 39 to highlight the shunning and the other scripture ne of how true christians will be indentified, if they have love among themselves etc.

  i need to look that one up exactly.. any ideas for content for further content??.

  Born again Christians do not have a clue as to how to

  effectively talk to or reach JW's. They always do lame

  things like trying to scare them with Hellfire, or asking

  them if they think they are going to go to heaven when they

  die, or asking them if they have accepted Jesus as their saviour.

  And the witness is standing there like a deer in the headlights.

  Tell them what woke you up and try to put it in context they

  might be able to use with any JW they know. That would be

  helpful to them.

  Large scale War in the Middle East

  is this spreading conflict, war, in syria and iraq, inevitable and some argue necessary.. new leaders rising with napoleon size ambitions, old monarchies trying to hold on to power.. religious ideologies and groups challenging one another.

  battles for natural resources and redrawing lands and boundries.. are there parallels to wwi and wwii..

  China will take over the world. While everyone is glued

  to their TV's watching ragged men with old Russian

  rifles and bombs strapped to thier bodies, charging across the

  desserts in outdated jeeps and beat up old camels. Iraq and

  Syria will never become world powers because they are too

  disorganized and their land is dessert and their people uneducated

  and their only asset is oil. Islam will never rule as long as

  they keep up sectarian in fighting and veil women and ban books.

  China has its tentacles crawling silently all over the planet, aquiring

  resources, securing footholds, ingratiating nations, handing out money,

  securing ports, building a canal across South America, isolating all

  manufacturing within its borders, gobbling up Africa, buying real estate

  all over North America and Europe. World domination is not accomplished

  by poor ragged men in turbans bashing each other over the head, its

  a show to watch, while China slips in and buys the mortgage on your house.

  Its the same problem and mystery we all face, young or old,

  how do we find the words to get through to those still under

  the "veil" of this cult ? What do we say or do ?

  Somehow it has to feel SAFE for them to question their

  own beliefs. There has to be a feeling that it is not "all" or "nothing".

  Be a JW, or, go straight into a bar and get drunk out your mind

  and start having sex with everyone and taking drugs.

  Those are obviously not the only choices. The reason the title

  to Crisis of Conscience is so appealing, is it describes the dilema

  of awakening and feeling something is really wrong and you can't

  ignore it and justify it any be an honest person. Instead of feeling

  shame, you need to feel the liberation and see light at the end

  of the tunnel you are entering. How do we pass this along ?

  Give hope to the fearful, the frozen, the shamed, the trapped?

  The core essential realization that the "holy" "anointed" "governing

  body" are not who they say they are, are not some "sole channel"

  and that the "organization" is not a lifeboat.

  Its so needed, a method, a strategy, to get this across.

  There doesn't seem to be a 12 step program

  that we can just take our relatives, friends, through.

  Unless you know of one ? It seems to happen to

  different people in different ways. I never met anyone, who

  stayed in, after reading Crisis of Conscience.

  there are certain "junk" words that litter our brain, pollute our vocabulary, and play fast and loose with our reasoning.. one of those junk words is spirit.. the words means nothing, but extrapolations of its metaphorical pretense are everywhere!.

  we have five sense connected with our body link to brain.. hearing, vision, taste, touch, sense of smell.. with those five we are in touch with things as they exist.. reality is what it is.. through technology, science has been able to amplify our senses with microscopes, telescopes, x-rays, mri's, space probes, atom smashers, etc.. but--i assure you--none of this has produced evidence of "spirit.".

  the last thing that happens when you die is this.

  Terry- Science also recognizes invisible unknown "forces" in the universe.

  Dark energy and dark matter, is what 97% of the universe is labeled, simply

  meaning, we don't know what the hell is out there, but only see its effects

  working against known laws. Spirit is a human English, word, taken from

  some Hebrew word, and similar concepts exist in all philosophies, it refers

  to some unknown, invisible, force acting on the universe.

  Wait a minute; isn't that what Quantum Mechanics is all about ?

  Terry- 96%- 97% of the universe is completley unknown, a mystery.

  Science changes its mind constantly, nothing is set in stone, there

  is no final, Science Book, that explains all. Science is not opposed to

  mystery or the possibilities of other life forms and other intelligence

  outside our own and existing elswhere. What you think you know for

  a "fact" today may be viewed as simply a childish notion, in 10 or 15 years

  from now. My examples, ( and I did not need to spend hours of research

  to find them ) where simply meant to illustrate the changing nature of

  information and constant changing understanding of the

  universe and science itself.

  Cofty is sputtering on about how I got the information?

  It is basic and common knowledge, (to anyone who took any

  college level science) but must it have been such 'big news" to Cofty,

  he assumed I made it up myself ? Or was "taking credit for it" ?

  Dilemma

  gorby and his lovely wife had during dinner a chat about watchtower hypocrisy.

  she faded with me since 2007 and shows sometimes affection for the organization.. we talked about the gb and ray franz.. she asked me if she could read my ray franz books.. now i have a dilemma.

  the books gave me a hard time in the '90.. i know the ray franz truth can hurt and shock her so much.

  your wife ? Do you keep her locked up in the basement ?

  Do we need to go over to your house and do an intervention?

  Do you chain her to the bedpost when you go out of the house?

  Gobatchove- If what you claim were true - your wife would just

  pick up the books and read them - why is she "asking permission"

  and who gave you the power to "forbid" or "allow" ?

  What specific "damage in your family" can occur by education

  and information that is true ? You make no sense.
