There are so many variables to consider. She may not take things to the extreme. Her elders may also be more laid back and not inclined to go on which hunts at the drop of a hat. That's one of the most frustrating things about venue a witness. There are so many things left up to each congregation and each elder, it's like a box of chocolates. Most witnesses do just enough to fly below the radar, so they can stay in the social club. That's really all being a witness is about. God is way down the list. The only way to truly see things for what they are is to view them from a distance. If it weren't for me missing meetings, then I probably wouldn't have noticed the things I do now. Give her some time.

I found it ironic that they use "watch towers" and they have town "elders".

"The occupants of a small Pennsylvania village in 1897 live in fear of nameless creatures in the surrounding woods. They have built a big barrier of oil lanterns and watch towers that are constantly manned to keep watch for "Those We Don't Speak Of." It is explained that the villagers have a long-standing truce with the monsters; the villagers do not go into their woods, and the creatures do not enter their village." -

The TRUTH about Jehovah's Wittnesses (from MY 22 YRS. EXPERIENCE) - A MUST READ!
by gmason972 ini have learned to stay away from all religion and jehovahs wittness doctrine (that includes the watchtower and awake magazines).
stay away from positions of ministerial servant, pioneer, aux pioneer, elder, and the like.
once you become a full fledged jehovah wittness you are doomed to be unhappy.

Romans 9:20 (NLTse)
No, don’t say that. Who are you, a mere human being, to argue with God? Should the thing that was created say to the one who created it, “Why have you made me like this?”It still amazes me that some can have a supposedly bible based "holier than thou" attitude when it comes to what God wants and doesn't want, when you can find numerous scriptures like the one quoted above.

Here is some good info on the changes. https://www.ehealthinsurance.com/affordable-care-act/misc_page/5-steps-to-understanding-obamacare
I'm no expert on the subject but if you want to see a realistic price difference go to ehealthinsurance.com Type in your info for coverage starting in 2013, then go back and try it for 2014. The premiums for me were at least double for 2014.

Did your parents force spiritual goals on you?
by Comatose ini was thinking today about my childhood.
i knew from a young age that the proper response to a question about what i wanted to be when i grew up was pioneering, missionary, bethel, or c.o.
i was taught from childhood not to want to be a fireman or astronaut.

I am 32 years old. Recently decided that I've had enough of the family roofing business, although I've been tired of it for years. I started fire academy 6 weeks ago, starting paramedic school next year and hopefully will have a new career soon. I jumped into it kinda fast, didnt want to give myself a chance to back out. Needless to say I'm loving it! I only wish I were ten years younger. With only 6 weeks of being around firefighter and seeing what they do on a daily basis really reinforces my decision about how self centered and needless the organization is. They pretend to love everyone, have everyone's best interest at heart and that they're sacrificing for their fellow man, yet very few of them seek careers that actually do help people. The overwhelming majority of JW's that I talked to about wanting to become a firefighter had a negative viewpoint about it. The biggest complaint was having to miss meetings. How sad small the world truly is. Glad to have broken out of the bubble.

- We must really, really be close to the end this time. To invest so many resources into revising the bible just so it can be destroyed when Jesus finally takes over.
- They might as well just put out a cliff notes version of the hundred or so verses that they repeat over and over out of context.

Becoming "unevenly yoked" ?
by Blttex ini haven't been to a meeting in about a year, made up my mind about six months ago that jw's are just another religion and that its not for me.
started dating a "worldly" girl 10 months ago and got engaged this past weekend.
i'm having a hard time deciding who to invite to the wedding.

These are all great points. Thank you all for your input. Reading the possible consequences and not being afraid of them one bit makes me realize that their control of me is all but gone. It really is amazing what true freedom can do for you. I have never felt more free and as a result never happier than I am now. Thinking about a judicial committee doesn't bring knots to my stomach as it always has before. It's all I can do to keeping from laughing about how pathetic those committees and witch hunts are. The convention broke what thin threads were left between me and witnesses. The Saturday parts about apostasy were pathetic and childish to say the least. It was so bad that it didnt make me mad, it just made me laugh at how poorly they developed their arguments. Having my debate coach girlfriend there with me didnt help their case either. I felt like I was watching Sesame Street.
