The Ressurection Is My Insurance
Proud Parent Of A Part Time Janitor
Bethelite On Board
Gone Shunnin'!
so my husband (who was never a jw) saw a christian bumper sticker today and asked me if the witnesses have any.
i said no (not that i know of anyway) so here are a few he came up with.. 'honk if you're a zombie'.
'my other car is noah's ark'.

My Child Is An Honor Student At The Theorcratic Ministry School
i was baptised --1963. left in 1978. fifteen years.
pre-baptism, another 5 years.
I was baptized November 1999.
Started actively fading November 2001.
Officially DF'd May 2002.
I was raised in the "truth" from age 1 though.
i ask this because the wt always bangs on about if you trust in jehovah and make that leap into pioneering, you will always be provided for.
at the time i joined the cult, a friend was continuous aux.
pioneering.
We had a pioneer in our cong. who live hand to mouth everyday. She basically existed on a couple bags of potatoes and water for the week, unless somebody invited her to dinner. She even went so far as to read by candlelight to save money on her electtic bill, but she kept regular poineering anyway.
When her mom passed away, she was granted custody of her younger brother and had to quit pioneering to work and support him. People actually gossiped that she was being materialistic!
so i have a question that's been bothering me for years.
i know this is extreme but i think you'll see where i'm going with this.
so ex-jw's are evil we're on "satan's side" as my dad told me and we aren't worth a hello.
My immediate snarky reply: Because the GB has decided they can make more money by not moving everyone to a sealed off commune.
I will say, a lot of the items you mentioned (concerts, secular books etc.) are frowned upon in various degrees depending on what congregation you go to.
there is rumors that in this years dc nwt will be released and also new tracts.
any other rumors about new releases?.
Maybe there will be questions at the bottom of every page that you can hilight the answers to! I also like the connect the dots idea!
what is considered as a requirement for them now-a-days to turn in their time as a "publisher?
" among born-in, how young were you?
my parents became jws when i was 9 yrs old.
@Gopher - Very Interesting. She always did. She included any magazines and books we placed on her sheet as well.
mine: i was walking around a grocery store with one of those snapple iced tea boxes dangling from one hand, looking for the other thing i ran in to buy.
suddenly the flimsy cardboard side of the box came unglued, and bottles dumped out, smashing open on the floor.
a river of iced tea began to run down the aisle.
When I was about 8 months pregnant, I reached up to the top shelf for a bag of oyster crackers. Apparently, the bag had been cut when they stocked the shelves because tiny little crackers poured out and filled my glasses and my shirt. I happened to inhale a bunch of the salt, so I was coughing quite a bit too. My black shirt was covered in crumbs.Even though it wasn't my fault, I was pretty embarrassed.

I was 7 & my sister was 6. We started at the same time. I seem to remember our mom counting our time as her own before that. Is that normal procedure? I can't remember.
i'm sure many of us still remember these times when the organization used to sell food at conventions.. i also remember that when this was stopped, the official reason was that the "brothers" were missing some of the program because of all the preparations.
typical watchtower "pretend we care" excuse.. i've wondered if there is another reason behind it, tied to perhaps finances or logistics that was the real deciding factor.
history and typical "modus operandi" of the society tells me that if there was some money to be made that way, they would not have stopped.. wonder if anybody has more info on this..
Probably for the same reason that they are "allowing" people to print PDFs of their publications. MONEY. Why spend it on something they don't hae to?
