News Update
by Amazing ini have been away for a couple of weeks, distracted by legal, work and health issues.
it all came down at a time when i am trying to get some things done regarding the jw child abuse issues.. added to my heart disease is disbetes ... cool ... in addition to not having fats, cholestrol, caffiene, cigarettes and sodium ... now i have to cut out carbs, sugar, coke, and take more medicine.
my diet is reduced to a thin piece of clear fibre paper every other night, forty pills, and purified water.

Circuit Assembly Report
by Hapgood incoming out of the lurking mode to give you all a report on the 2 day ca that i attended this past weekend.
i always enjoy other reports that have been posted so i thought i would share my observations.
i attend with my jw hubby to keep him company so he doesn't have to go alone, that's the only reason that i go.. i didn't take any notes, so i'm doing this by memory.

lol For the nine or so years I attended I never ever not once contributed. Why should I pay to have my time wasted. Even tho I was an EW I hated going and forcing the poor kids to and sit still for what seemed to be an eternity just to have people from other states to come tell us what we heard last week at the meeting. Jeez

Wrongfully Disfellowshipped?
by YoursChelbie inof all the ex-jehovah's witnesses who are posters on this forum, i think we could be divided into two major groups: those who over the years "drifted away" and were never df and those who were df.
out of those who were subjected to a judicial meeting and subsequently were disfellowshipped, how many feel that the decision was undeserved by the jwitnesses own criteria for disfellowshipping and was completely mishandled?
did you consider suing the wt society for defamation of character?

You should have never bothered to put yourself through the judical hearings. The were a waste of your time and they have no right to know every personal detail of your life. Unless you still wanted to be a dub. I think from your experience you now know what kind of people you were dealing with. your life will only get better from here.

You might be a jW if...
by Valis in*lol* i found these on some jw's website...*lol* he had the font and background color white so you couldn't really see them...*lol* straight from the horse's mouth no less..
you might be a jw if.... if you feel that death is more important than birth
if you have constant pain in your right shoulder and can't unclasp your right hand; you probably have bookbagitis, a disease unique to jw's

My Ghost Experience This Morning
by rem ini had a terrifying experience this morning and i'm writing about it as a lesson on how we perceive things.
this type of thing has happened to me several times in my life, but since it just happened again this morning, and ghosts seem to be a topic of interest on this board, i thought i'd share it.. i was staying at a friend's house while she was away.
this place is an old apartment complex built in the 1920's in san francisco.

What happened to me once, I remember looking at the alarm clock at about 2:30ish my alarm clock at the time had green numbers on it. Anyways while I was staring at it, the numbers started blinking on and on, I thought- stupid alarm clock is broken! I didnt think much of it, but then it started blinking faster, finally the numbers turned RED! I got up to get some water because i was so scared and thought I was dreaming, When right in the living room he was standing right in front of me. I tried to yell, but he put his hands around my neck and started squezzing really hard. When I hit the floor I realized I was in bed. The next day my neck was really sore. I know it was a dream, but I swear I could feel everything from his breathing on me, to his hands around my neck. I never feel anything when I dream.
To avoid that I never sleep on back again. NEVER! I think that was the problem that night.

do beer commercials cross the line?
by DanTheMan ini was hoping to enjoy the championship game between the eagles and the bucs.. but no more than 5 or 10 minutes into the game, a budweiser ad comes on that uses a very obvious double entendre (a conversation between a man and woman that revolves around the very large sweatshirt she is wearing.
she makes comments like, "small ones are ok, but big ones just feel better.
" the commercial closes with her remarking about his "small hands".).

Yea im with the small group that dont like the commercials however i wont change or turn off the channel. Its the same thing you see at a beach, with the exeption of the mud wrestling of course. Its just people. I think onc I lose weight and get in shape again, I wont have a problem with them.

Its ok to have your opinion on those commercials. I cant stand them, however i think people who cant stand them have a low self asteem issue.
