  My favorite sites are www.jwfiles.com, this is Shaun's Research on the Jehovah's Witnesses site. There are a lot of categories and topics covering nearly every JW false teaching. A very good site for doing research, saves you tons of time. The other is www.jwinfoline.com, this site has recorded testimonies and teaching tapes you can listen to while on line, you can download them as well. If you coundnt get to the PA convention it's likely you will find what you missed on this site. Hope you find them as useful as I have.

  Spare the rod and spoil the child?

  i saw a report on tv just now of how two baptist mininisters beat the living daylights out of some kid for not attending the correct bible class.

  the kid suffered kidney damage and the ministers have been arrested.

  this reminded me of how my jw brother used to take his boys out the back and beat them black and blue every time his patience ran out with them for not sitting still for 2+ hours.

  When the bible talks about the rod of discipline, it does not always refer to loving guidance. I know we would like to think that God didnt mean beat little children but notice this quote directly from the bible:

  "Do not hold back discipline from the mere boy. In case you beat him with the rod, he will not die. With the rod you yourself should beat him, that you may deliver his very soul from She'ol itself."

  Prov. 23:13,14

  Notice, this is how you keep him from going to Hell, you BEAT him with the rod. Also see that it's a "mere boy" (small child) that should be beaten. In this case I guess loving guidance didnt work so it's time for harder measures.

  Dr. Spock and Spanking Kids

  there have been several posts about the way witnesses discipline their kids lately, this prompts me to ask.... has anyone had the "dr spock quote" thrown in their face by a witness?

  i have heard witnesses throw this about for years, but cannot honestly remember ever seeing it in print.

  and i have never read any of dr. spock's books.

  The Watchtower Society did say in print that Dr. Spock recanted his position on child rearing. It's in the 12/8/81 Awake! page 14,15 here's the quote:

  " But Dr. Benjamin Spock, himself a former proponent of permissive child training, later admitted that it was a mistake." g81 12/8 14-15 Do You Recognize the Meaning of What You See?

  Are there two 2002 School Schedules?

  the watchtower calender and the theocratic schedule that came in the oct. 2001 kingdom ministry say the week of march 4 the bible reading is isa 32 to 37 but my pioneer wife says it's 2 chroncles 6 to 9. was there a change in the schedule since the printing in oct. 2001?.

  Here is my poem, written only months after I stopped going to the Hall. It's about religion as a whole but mostly it's my feelings about the Watchtower Society. Here goes:

  The Void by William Jones ©

  Endless is the path and winding the road
  that leads through the void and many are the
  ones finding it

  It's neither dark nor light but opaque and it's
  ambivalence is exemplified through it's
  malice intent

  It's temporal displacement is evident, it transcends time and age and exists generation after generation

  It is the role of the damned to walk the
  course set before their feet

  The void is a world were the undead reside
  where nothing is real except the void itself

  It traps it's unwitting victims who are
  unaware and weak minded

  It divides us and tells us to have faith in HIM
  when what they really want is for us to have faith in them

  the void requires total submission which is to believe without question...question them not, as not to anger the beholder of your faith

  I believe, not in the void, but only that it exists
  It must be exposed if the TRUTH is to survive.
