If you are going to challenge someone then you are the one that has to prove or disprove their belief. I believe what I believe, if you want to change my mind that's your issue not mine.

Why does an atheist have to disprove anything?
by digderidoo ini have noticed alot of debate in posts lately between an atheist argument and a christian one.
it seems to me that the atheist is asked to disprove god's existence.
some times these debates have started to get personal with one side attacking the other with insults and i do not want to start another argument like these.. but i dont get it?

Do you change your mind easily?
by nicolaou inas ex-jw's we've all cleary changed our minds about what 'the truth' is but do you think you could make another big change like that again?
i honestly cannot see myself changing my mind about the non-existence of god and the supernatural - but hey, i was just as dogmatic in my jw days that those things were real!
i guess anything is possible but it feels as though with every passing year my options for change are reduced.

Depends on how much I have invested and how good the opposing argument is.

kerj2lee all I suggested in my post was that being open to the concept of friends helps. God forgive me for that! ~eye roll would go here if I had use of my smilies~

IMO sometimes people need someone in their life to be a little harsh instead of just getting the same ole "poor you" talk that perpetuates and reinforces their reality. But for the record I never told him to "get over it" I suggested something that worked for me and then commented on why I felt he responded so negatively.

I just started using firefox and apparently it's not real friendly with this site as I don't have a quote feature on here or my smilies so excuse my lack thereof. Oh and it doesn't make paragraphs for me either. Yes an opinion based on various posts. Is that really so hard to understand considering we are on a discussion board and have nothing else to draw from. I would say 99.9% of the people posting on this board have had negative outcomes in their lives thru no fault of their own. It's what you do with that that determines your reality. You can use it to cut yourself off and explain away why your life isn't getting better or you can use it to grow and learn and hopefully have a more positive outcome next time. Sometimes it's difficult to embrace that reality for various reasons but that doesn't mean it's impossible. IMO anyway. ;-)

What judgement? The first comment was a suggestion based on what worked for me. The second was an opinion based on what comments I have read of yours todate.

To be honest from the few posts of yours I've read RC, you come across as closed off and a wee bit bitter hence the comments about being open to things. I now, also, get the feeling you prefer to wallow in a pool of self pity and pseudo superiority rather than actually be proactive. Knock yourself out. ;-)

Just a thought. I didn't go out looking for friends they found me. I'm basically a loner, have been all my life. It just kind of evolved. Now I can't imagine being without them... to celebrate with me, to cry with, no judgement just acceptance ...it's nice to have people like that in your life but you have to be open to it.

Yep. Don't know why they love me but they do and have been there for me thru thick and thin.
