  i want to let all of you know that we have decided not to contest the elders decision to publicly reprove us tonight.

  after a lot of thought, we feel in the long run that by letting this go ahead it will only make the elders and the organization look guilty, not us.. the elders have basically ordered us not to talk about what our "crime" is with anyone.

  so we have decided that we will tell others what our crime was not, i.e.

  Just wanted to let you know I think the stand you and your wife have taken so far is courageous, publically voicing, even to a few, your viewpoint on the JW Org and the UN situation could not have been easy! And whatever you decide to do regarding how you handle your public reproof I am sure it will be done after careful consideration of the information you have received on here and your personal circumstances. There is a LOT of good advice here from people who have a considerable experience in dealing the the JW Org. but no one knows what your situation is better than you...

  After looking further I noticed that ya'll use the "no trespassing" as your tool to deter the JW's...that certainly wouldn't qualify as a curtailment of their Free Speech.

  I was wondering about the letters that are mentioned (that you have volunteers distribute) and was suprised there wasn't an example of the ones used. Was this just an oversight on my part and/or did I miss them? (lol wouldn't be the first time I missed something!)

  Also I was wondering, and please let me know if this isn't the right forum to be asking you about this, about the news article you had where the woman won a trespassing lawsuit...was the liability on the JW org or the individuals who did the actual trespassing?

  i found some ladies purse at the local shopping mall parking lot tonight, it had her entire life in it, her social security card, her cell phone, her cash, her credit cards, even her daughters social security card.. from looking through the contents, me and saffron were able to find out many things about her:.

  1)she had recently moved from way out in the country to columbia maryland... 2)she was probably divorced from a man of middle eastern origens.

  3)she was white.

  my wife and i met with 3 elders for a "judicial hearing".. our crime: simply put, was talking.

  i showed a friend the un website where the wts was listed as an ngo which then led to a 2 hour discussion of various doubts that we both have had.

  my wife also showed a friend the un thing but also discussed with her a first hand account of a pedophile cover-up that we knew about in our former congregation.

  the bible clearly states that fornicators will not inherit god's kingdom, but the question is "what is a fornicator"?

  if i remember correctly the word fornication is derived from the greek word "porneia".

  the problem is there are different defintions of that word porneia.

  lol just had to clear this up in my mind at least...Noah didn't sleep with his daughters...Gen 10:20-23 he got drunk and his sons saw him drunk and naked...Lot on the other hand had sex with BOTH his daughters..of course he was drunk and didn't know what he was doing..Gen 19:3-36

  Hey Badwillie just wanted to say I found your attitude extremely commendable! Like you said, it is a shame that you are having to go through this but great in that maybe it is what your wife need to open her eyes a little to what the JW org. is really all about.

  Seems to me that the attitude of these "brothers" is in line with the August Watchtower where ones are admonished not to even question the org. in their private and innermost thoughts...scary isn't it?

  A few things I don't understand about the bible

  there have always been things about the bible that never really made much sense to me.

  not to say that i disagree with whats in the bible but i have wondered about the fairness of certain things.. 1. for example i've always even as a child thought that it was odd that so many people would die during armageddon.

  now as an adult and i understand people better than i did years ago i really do feel puzzled about the fact that according to the scriptures the majority of mankind will perish.

  Really Leander why not try by starting out with the premise that there is NO true religion and then go from there...open your mind to more possibilites outside the the narrow confines of religion...

  just a thought....
