Should we let 13 yr. old daughter go with JW sisters and husbands?

my wife and i resigned from the wtbs last year.

we have a 13 yr. old daughter left at home.

we have 2 married daughters that have nothing to do with us but want to associate with their little sister.

RnM. Wife and I have gone through a somewhat similar situation, with our youngest daughter. ( 13 yrs ) Whenever her oldest sister visits us from out of town, she tries to make arrangements to bring her sister over to my wife's parents, who are still entrenched in the org. Our oldest daughter who has never been a practicing JW, sees no problem with it, but in times past, whenever the youngest has returned from a visit, we always "got attitude ". So we put a stop to it.

They would also take her to the Sunday meeting, and we were concerned about the " brainwashing factor "

BTW Wife's parents treat us like the plague, but we suspect they think have a chance with our youngest.

Went to a real funeral

i went to my first real funeral after leaving the dubs last week.

it was the first time in years i went into a church.

Would you take your shoes off?

if you went to someones house as a guest and they asked you to take your shoes off..would you?..would you be offended?....

does anyone know if this is proper etiquette?.

didn't know where else to post this........ my daughter was invited to a neighbors house and they requested people remove their shoes!...she never had anyone ask her that before.

When wearing snowshoes, it's so much easier to take them off than walking through someones home smashing and breaking everything in sight.

ROFLMAO !

And how about those cross-country skis we have to use to get out to the snowmobiles, so we can drive to work ?

I doubt there are many, or any liars here...just a few who tend to exaggerate....but crazy......Whew..there's a few !

To find such a large amount of information as you have found here ( particullary with " Scandals and Coverups ' ), as well as the "links" to other excellant sites, can be at first a little overwhelming. But don't stop now ! Good luck, and if you need help...please ask .

Memorial for a friend: Huge Success

first off i'd like to say a huge thank you to so many of you for posting to my topic regarding my friend's memorial a couple of weeks ago.

all of the information was read and all suggestions considered, and many were utilized.

i figured that at least a couple of you on this forum would be able to contribute to what was then, my upcoming involvement in my friend's memorial.

Ray. Sorry to hear about your friend Robert. I must have missed that post.

You see, that is how memorial services are supposed to be. Yes it is a sad time, but more importantly a celebration of a person's life. What a contrast to the way jw's remember a lost one.

Thanks for sharing that with us.

A few days ago Pysio ( Dansk ) made a post where she referred to being Gob - Smacked ( I think that is what she said ). Angharad mentined a post later that it meant completely shocked, speechless etc . Re the definitions you posted and the link to the jargon, I must honestly say I am Gob-Smacked at how you Brit's have massacred the English Language !
