I was explicit about my stepping down was due to doubts. And specifically about the generation of 1914 snafu.
The elders haven't met with me in 3 years, which is wonderful. Since I always served as a pioneer/elder, being john q publisher has been quite the adjustment.
I sense the "what the hell is wrong with you?" from people. In the end, most JWs understand the fact that the congregation is full of fucking weirdos, and I happen to be just another one of them now.
there is usually a metamorphosis that takes place for a person to leave the jehovah's witness religion.
most people do not just up and go simply because they realize this could not be the truth.
it often takes time.. for those that go to meetings or engage in the ministry, will you forever continue doing these things, knowing that it is all bs?
I've wondered this every day. For the past 5 years.
It's mostly about the girl I've been married to for 23 years. She's still a true believer. My version of slow dripping isn't working. Not sure if anything will. She's brought me a lot of happiness in my life. She's beautiful and easy to live with.
2018 will be my transition year. Not sure what's going to happen with the girl I've loved most of my life.

The article also says that "some" jws have allowed their love to grow cold. If they are looking for fulfillment of this prophecy, they should say "most" have done so.

hungry for truth, and humble enough to accept that they need to change".
Honest? No, not with themselves, nor reality.
Humble? No, not humble enough to change their mind when presented with facts.
Hungry? No, not for data, evidence, facts, or anything else that doesn't fit their preconceived notions.
What they are looking for in their canvassing is the two Ds. Dumb and desperate.

we were just musing that jws act in a "flirtatious" manner with people in the community.. they show such "sincere" interest in people when they call.
they seem like such kind, caring and thoughtful people - really interested in their lives and welfare.. people are often quite impressed with the jws manner, and their well dressed presentation.
people (especially vulnerable ones who are going through difficult pressures in life), are drawn in and made to feel special by the witnesses as they call back.. return visits take place.
I bought a shitty car one time because the sales lady was hot and flirted with me subtly. Not immediately, not aggressively, but in controlled moments. She did it right.
How many times has some hot young JW lady gave me an RV and be like: "this shit ain't goin' nowhere with me".
