I want to really screw with an elder by saying:
"Some days I believe (insert anything here), some days I don't."
so just finished telling your concerns about the pedophiles cover up, failed prophecies, revisionists history and lack of financial transparency.
so elders ask you the questions.
" so does this mean you don't want to to be a jw anymore?

for anyone who denies that the wtbts teaches jehovah's witnesses & potential converts lies and perversions of scriptures via their literature, here is a prime example:
w88 2/15 p. 9 further corrective counsel - "but because of human imperfection, at times serious disputes will occur.
jesus also provides guidelines for handling them.
This isn't just an "elder" issue. This is a JW issue as a whole. It is supported by everyone, from the GB to the R & F. Don't forget, elders are brainwashed cult victims as well. I was one for 14 years.
has anyone noticed how many jw's really seem to be rollin in it?
escpecially the elders, and they treat their subordinates like filthy gum on the bottom of their shoe?
just wondering because i too am poorer than poor and have spent a fourth of my life homeless already and i am 22.. another thing to consider is why domost of the population on this planet seem to hate the poor, even though we outnumber the middle class and the rich greatly?
There's being poor in developed countries, which isn't great, but then there is being poor in poor countries, and that is where real poverty lies.
Many people that support and have supported these forums grew up poor, myself included. I'm in the developed-country-poor category. Why? Because this cult preys on the poor and our poor parents or grandparents got sucked into this cult.
Poverty is not only about being poor moneywise, it is also about being poor educationally. Thanks to the web, I've been able to play catch-up over the last 6 years regarding philosophy, science, and history. I knew almost nothing about these subjects until I woke up and started doing REAL research and ACTUALLY learning.
This cult keeps people poor both not only in wealth, but also in education, which can be the vehicle that gets you out of poverty.
i am agnostic.
i will count how many agnostics, atheists and christians that are reading this forum regularly.
please answer my question.
ANTI-Jehovah's Witness Christian Theist
any elder has never asked me that question so far but i want to be prepared to answer that question if any of them ask me that question in the future.
i hope that they will never ask me that question.
any suggestions on how to answer that question would be very much appreciated.
Just to mess with them, tell that you give your confidence a 4 on a 10 scale.
Do not allow them to frame it as a black and white issue.
back in the "good old days", i would look for people in my territory, especially ministers in order to debate the trinity with them.
it was my pet subject that i had spent many hours over several years researching.
i was such a good anti-trinity apologist that i was actually disappointed with the trinity brochure when it came out.
Smiddy - "A Believer , The KI published by the WTB&TS a word for word translation on John 1:1 "In the beginning the word was and the word was with God and the word was god "
It is dishonest for them to say the word was "a" god that is not what the original text says in their KI."
Hey Smiddy,
The indefinite article is not used in koine Greek. Any place you see an "a" in ANY NT English translation can be considered an insertion and "not what the original text says". And besides, don't you know about the issue of an anarthrous noun in the predicate?
Note: I couldn't give two shits about the Trinity issue, I just want to show how apologetics are way too easy to create.

"If you understand the nature of god of being invisible and untouchable and who scholars believe jesus was in the old testament ( the word of the lord or the angel of the lord), it's really not hard explain."
or
If you understand the the nature of a generation being long and multi-grouped and who JW scholars believe a generation was in the old testament (he and all his generation), it's really not hard to explain.
Could my point be made any clearer?
at a 3-day convention in nairobi, kenya this week 12-2-16 through 12-4-16, they had 70,000+ attendance, and there were 792 baptized (i presume the baptism was yesterday).
i was amazed to hear this; i guess now we know where the wt's growth is coming from..

#A Believer
The JWs do teach 2 = 1.
2 Groups = 1 Generation

(It spends way too much page real estate quoting people that don't believe the Trinity, for instance.)
One of my favorite things to do in my ministry was to force a person to define the Trinity and make them stick to it. And once they defined it, I started asking questions. Why was this fun for me? Because of the problem with the Trinity: there are three "things" that are called "one God".
These things I have heard and read called Persons, Personalities, Entities, and Beings. I read one pro-trinity book where the author swore there was ONLY ONE BEING! I had a pastor tell me that there are THREE beings but one ESSENCE.
Trinitarians and Jehovah's Witnesses have a similar problem now.
1. JWs are trying to make 2 = 1.
2. Trinitarians are trying to make 3 = 1.
I see the apologists in both camps making very similar moves. Inventing non-scriptural labels such as "groups" or "entities", and defining these labels with such gusto that they are actually creating a new definition for the words being used. But it doesn't matter what labels you use, confusion still abounds.
A nominal Catholic or Protestant usually doesn't understand the Trinity and doesn't talk about it. The same goes for JWs and their favorite "generation".
