ex-JW's : Would you go to war?

my ex-brother in law phoned this morning and asked me how i felt about going to war now that i'm not in the org anymore.

with so many years of being told not to i wonder how many of us still feel that way.

would you be worldly conscientious objectors or would you defend...etc.... i'm not trying to antaganize or be inappropriate.

I would not hesitate to go to war. In the past I often complained about how the United States was always, in my adolescent way of thinking, "Policing the World". What I came to realize is that my country has been able to protect freedom for all Americans. Now the very freedom I cherish, although taken for granted in the past, has been attacked in the very state I live in. I will defend this freedom on my street, in my town, in my county, in my state, in my country, in my world.

Well, I was disfellowshipped in the Saratoga Springs, NY congregation. I was actually at my cousins house when I got the call for the interagation. Fortunatly I was stoned beyond belief at the time so I had no problem telling them that I had no intention in stopping my relationship with my worldy girlfriend, now my wife of 22 years. As you may have guessed, fornication was my sin. I suspect I used the situation as my out, as I wanted out at the age of 8 when my parents wanted in.

When and where baptized

i thought it might be interesting to see how many here remember where and when they were baptised into the borg.

for some the memory may be too painful, but i'm curious.. me.

I did the deed in 1973 or 1974, I can't recall for sure, at what I believe was a circuit assembly in Saratoga Springs NY. The baptism took place at the YMCA. I like many others got baptized because some of my friends were doing it. On reflection, I simply don't understand why I did it. Back in 1968 when my parents were getting into the "truth", I can clearly remember thinking "I can't wait till I'm 18 so I can quit this religon." Can anyone explain to me why an 8 year old would have these thoughts, yet be so stupid as to get baptized?

I think this would be very helpful for you so that perhaps you could get a grip on the english language, and perhaps you could learn to communicate here.

GodRules, I believe you are wrong. As I understand your statement, I assume that "Jehovah's Organization" would be the JW organization. I also assume that "Jehovah's Organization" considers me an apostate. That having been said, I, (an apostate) do not try to discredit "Jehovah's Organization", (JW organization). Many of my family are members of "Jehovah's Organization", and I think that's fine for them. I would never discourage them, nor do I ever attack their beliefs. What I do do is to try to answer some peoples questions honestly. I don't often post messages or replys, but when I do, I am honest about my experiences and let each person decide for themselves how best to use what I've said.

Disfellowshipped Counted?

my brother was just here and of course since we are both disfellowshipped we have nothing better to talk about than jw bs.

so as he understands it those of us that are disfellowshipped are still counted as jw's by the society.

on one hand i could understand the math.
