Searching for a Child Abuser

i heard this weekend that a convicted child abuser was murdered in jail.

i knew him but i don't remember his first name.

we were in the same congregation together for a few weeks.

I heard this weekend that a convicted child abuser was murdered in Jail. I knew him but I don't remember his first name. We were in the same congregation together for a few weeks. Anyhow, he confessed to the elders that he had abused his three younger sisters and the elders turned him into the authorities. I have searched the internet for the story (I'm guessing that it would have been covered by a newspaper), but I have not been able to find it.

I know some of you are experts in searching for information so here is what I know:

His last name is Vasquez or Vazquez (not sure on the spelling), first name I don't remember. He is a baptized Witness. He was disfellowshipped for child abuse. He was turned in by the elders back in 1997 in Dallas County. He was sent by the authorities to Brownsville, Texas where the crimes occurred. He was sentenced to 99 years of prison without parol. He was murdered in prison sometime between March 14th and March 17th. I received the news from a friend of his wife.

i admire what you are trying to do in behalf of all those that have been sexually abused, but i believe you are going about it in the wrong way.. you have taken up a fight against jehovah himself and this is futile.

I stand corrected. Jehovah's organization is perfect, but the members are imperfect. Unfortunately what to do with child molesters is not covered in the scriptures, so the brothers have handled child molesters like those that commit other sins such as fornication and adultary, by means of a judicial committee.

What is IT that scares the hell out of you the most about DATELINE's investigative story

It does not scare me, in fact, I welcome it as they will show the JW point of view and bring clarification to the issue.

No, I do not think that it is an apostate lie. I do think that apostates are taking advantage of the situation to discredit the Witnesses. You don’t give a damn about the victims as long as it makes the Witnesses look bad. Most Elders do care about the victims. Of course there are a few assholes around the world, but Jehovah will judge them eventually without any help from humans.

If it's true that Jehovah is backing up an organization that has rules in place which protect child abusers instead of innocent children who are the victims of child abusers, then how can any honest-hearted person want ANYTHING to do with a "god" who 'backs up' such disgusting practices??

Jehovah is not backing up the “disgusting practices”. He cares for his children and that’s why he has made arrangements to wipe of all unhappiness and gives those victims hope.

Sacrificing children in this way is not something that "Jehovah" approves. This is 'a thing that He has not commanded and that had not come up into His heart'. Jeremiah 7:31

You are right, Scully. I agree completely with this statement and so do all 6 million Witnesses.

There is no amount of Theocratic War Strategy that can be used to justify even ONE pedophile's existence within "God's clean organization".

The Witnesses are not justifying the existence of pedophiles. Bad elements will infiltrate any organization and Jehovah’s organization is no exception. Jehovah does not approve of these elements, whether it be a child molester, fornicator, drunkard, murderer or any that brakes his commandments. Judicial Committees are designed to clean out these bad elements from the organization.

So, it's Jehovah who's keeping this off Dateline?

First in the hands of Jehovah, and secondly in the hands of their parents. Jehovah does not need Mr. Bowen to do his job. Jehovah has his own timetable for doing things.

My own father molested me while an elder throughout my teens, while I was an auxilllary and regular pioneer.

Is he still an elder? Was he disciplined by the congregation?

He babysits for sisters in the KH while they are on Bible Studies.

I doubt there would be any abuse done in the Kingdom Hall. If the parents are stupid enough to leave their children with this man, after you made it public in court, well I don’t know what to say except that they’re idiots.

This is very true, but did those resisters leave Jehovah’s organization. Did they speak evil things about their God? Has Mr. Bowen been raised by God as a resister? Maybe he can answer that and I would like to know how he knows this.

As the daughter of a former PO and child molester, this is a sensitive issue for me. Why did the elders over 40 years ago slap my father's hand and make my sister feel guilty for provoking his attacks by the way she looked even though she was 8 years old?

I don’t know what it is that you call a “slap on his hand”. You realize that this is only your version, how could you remember the details if you were younger that “three”? Someone obviously told you their version, maybe your sister, but unless you were there your accusations against the elders are not valid.

When is a good time for Jehovah to take care of this and "clean" His Organization?

In all of the cases that you went through, the problem is not with cleaning the organization but with Jehovah getting rid of individual members that committed these atrocities. When will he eventually clean out all child molesters? Armageddon.

This is a serious discussion board.

I admire what you are trying to do in behalf of all those that have been sexually abused, but I believe you are going about it in the wrong way.

You have taken up a fight against Jehovah himself and this is futile. The organization has some flaws, as is expected of any imperfect organization. The difference is that it's backed by Jehovah. He cleanses the organization at the right time but he would never do it through the hands of someone that is opposed as you are.

I, like yourself, also believe that child abusers are sick and must be dealt with the strongest severity. But each case must be taken care of one by one.

It does not surprise me that those representing Dateline do not want to communicate with you. What did you think, that they would just believe you? Of course they would also look at the Watchtower's point of view. It seems that is happening. But to accuse them of being manipulated by the Watchtower, is just stupid.

In your quest to change Watchtower policy, have you taken Jehovah into consideration? Do you have Biblical backing for your actions? What did Jesus command us to do?

Unfortunately you have chosen the wrong path. No one can mess with Jehovah. I know, I've tried and now I am outside looking in. I have realized my error and I will do anything to have Jehovah's favor once again. It is not too late for you, but you must humble yourself in front of Jehovah and let him handle things.

if my calculations are correct, it is somewhere around 1 in every 775,000,000.. with those statistics, god could very well skip over the entire north & south america continents !.

no wonder people were "eating, drink, and marrying" in noah's day !.

Noah and his family were not saved by random chance. They followed God's instructions even if at that time they seemed rediculous.

If you were inside the ark, what was the chance for survival? 1 in 1. Those are pretty good odds.

Rodriguez said Beliz "abused her approximately once a week" from the time she was four until she was 11, when she and her family moved to California.

I have a couple of questions to those that are more familiar with this case. Is Beliz a family member with Rodriguez? If he was able to abuse her once a week for a period of 7 years, how did he have so much contact with the family? Where did the abuse happen, in her home or his? Did he babysit her maybe? Just wondering how this is possible without Erica's parents having any hint of what was happening.

Thank you for asking. My reinstatement was turned down, but the meeting was very peaceful and I was able to ask questions. I am doing some meditating on the matter and will post exactly what happened either tomorrow or Wednesday.
