  Pray with a Born-Again Agnostic

  my son, now 19 has his first real job, complete with crappy hours, and he is finding that five meetings a week is cutting into his now very precious free time.

  it seems he is a bit tired these days, and his meeting attendance is starting to fall off a bit.

  his mother is concerned, im overjoyed and hopeful that the pressure of his new job and responsibilities will show him in no uncertain terms just how much the jw lifestyle sucks the fun out of life.. yes, this born-again agnostic is praying that his son will rebel against the borg more and more until he finally comes to his senses.

  I am dealing with the same situation. My son is seventeen and is home schooled and works over 50 hours a week. When he has to miss a meeting because of work my wife makes him go to another congregations meeting on a different night. She has also threatned him that if he does not make his meetings and field service as well as showing up for his Bible Study so he can get babtised she will not help him with any other endeavors he has. I finally got fed up with it and told him in private that we have a little thing in this Country called FREEDOM OF RELIGION and he has every right to exercise that freedom and that I would not let his mother stand in his way.

  He really loves his Mom and does not want to hurt her so he just thanked me for my concern and said he could handle it.

  I hate the guilt trip that JW parents put on there kids. Especially when it is my first born Son that is being messed with.

  I have decided that I will only talk about my stand concerning the Dubs if they want me to. I believe in time they will be WON OVER WITHOUT A WORD.

  I guess through experience and finding out after the fact. The lies are not always lies that hurt people I am talking about lies in general,white lies,small lies,little deceptions,you know what I mean.

  There's something in the sink looking at me.

  its down in the drain and i can barely make it out but it's definitely showing signs that it is attracted to me.. how should i respond?.

  Get rid of it NOW !!! It is probally a demon, I had one in my drain one time. I got rid of it by shredding up an old Watchtower magazine and mixing it with urine and blending it together and pouring it down the drain.

  It never came back.

  What would you create?

  I know it is hard to try to imagine yourself in this situation but try if you will.

  As for me I think that I would have a little more empathy and compassion in my design. I believe I would not create a humankind that would live forever but I would make it clear to my creation what laid ahead for them at there end.

  I do believe I would give my creation what we have now as far as free will goes but I would not make guilt a part of the process.

  As far as the earth goes I think I would have not made available to inhabitants fossil fuels but would have made solar energy resources the main source of eneregy.

  Last but not least I would not tolerate any form of religion that did not encourage free will.

  How about you what would you create?

  If You Had One Year To Live ????

  if you found out you had only one year of life left to live do you think your thoughts and views on the dubs would change ?.

  i was personally brainwashed from an early age and have only been out about six years and still have some things in my head that are hard to shake.. when i think about death it is always something that i imagine will happen years from now (hopefully) however if i knew it was right around the corner i might possibly be prone to re-thinking my thoughts on god and relgion in general.

  i now think as myself as a deist.. any thoughts on this matter?
