  saw this in the paper this morning, it's a clear indication to me why the wt is trying to get rid of any connection they have with people that could be said to be working for them.. .

  I noticed that the article said the Diocese/church was responsibly "self-insured" Thus, this young women was likely spared any cost herself. You can bet that rank-and-file JW's are not offered the same protection by the WTBTS. Individual JW's has beter take out a million dollar rider to their auto insurance! Something they are not likely to do because of the extra cost. Pity the poor JW who injured someone in an accident while engaging in Watchtower business. They will be on their own to deal with the situation.

  kn37 - 50 bible studies

  at the service meeting tonight the service overseer announced that the british bethel had received 50 requests for bible studies since the campaign.

  this surprised me, though i suppose it's not really a huge amount, i wouldn't have expected that many.

  also, our cong has run out of tracts, and we're only half way through the campaign, with lots of territory still to cover.

  LOL Well, I was at my orthotist's office today for an adjustment on my AFO (leg brace) and laying on the waiting room table was a stack of #37! I snatched them up - 20 copies - guess there was one JW who didn't follow instructions!

  Do you have any "old friends"?

  hey all,.

  i was thinking today that many of us lack something that other people enjoy -- old friends.

  we either weren't close to our high school friends, or sort of shut them out of our lives.

  I'm so very fortunate in this regard! I still have friends from when I was in elementary school. Even as an active JW - we remained friends. And, it is even more amazing that we have kept in fairly close contact for more then 50 years. I have always known what was happening in their lives, and they in mine. Hardly a week goes by but what I speak by phone with one or more of them. In fact one of my best girlfriends from when I was in 3rd grade, has offered me the use of her 'vacation' home in Florida for my use this winter. I offered her a 'rental' arrangement, but she refused it, saying that she considers it 'payback' for the times I helped her when we were both young mothers, living practically next door to each other. Really, really good friends, and nary a one was ever a JW.

  No snow here in SW Ohio - but it sure is cold for this time of year! Nice and sunny tho - I'll be heading down to Florida next month - to spend the winter in the sunshine? With my needing to wear a leg brace, it's just too difficult for me to walk in snow/ice. Good bye tomatoes, annual flowers and lovely potted plants. Take heart HadEnuf, at our ages, the time passes quickly and spring will be here again before we know it. ((((Had Enuf))))

  HaPPY Birthday RandomD - Today was my birthday, too. My kids took me out to my favorite Indian restaurant, two of my grandkids went along - a very nice evening and the weather was beautiful, too. I dont want to say my age - but I also went on Medicare today, haha.

  name few words or expressions a normal person can say, but not a jw.. when someone sneezes, you can't say bless ya !.

  if you want to surprise a jw, you can't say boo !!!
