  Does the Watchtower break up famelies?

  my word it does.. when i started studying with the witlesses all of my family and inlaws deserted me for following a stupit cult.

  my wife divorced me and my children won't talk to me.. that's ok because according to jdubs that proves it's the truth.. as i progressed in "the truth(tm)" all my friends started to abandon me because i was always going to those booring meetings.. when i found someone i liked in "the truth" and started associating with her, some of my witness friends tried to break up the friendship.. ie break up another family before it even starts.. after i married her without getting the elder permission, some of my jdub friends tried to df me, to show how much they loved me.. when they failed to df me some of my witless friends decided to shun me anyway even though the elders pronounced us no guilty.. i should have sued the bastards for slander.

  today i'd just give him (the instigator) a good hiding.

  though i have no recollection of calling you hysterical, let's say i did and i've forgotten.. you say that to call you hysterical is 'a gender related criticism.

  Just goes to show what Larc "doesn't know" - I'm his wife of 38 years and when I really cry, I want to be 'alone' also.

  Now I'm not referring to the occasional watery eyes, or a few tears shed one might experience watching a particularly poignant movie...or even reading something touching.

  Nor do I mean those mutually grieving times, such as a death in the family, an illness of someone close,or such.

  I am speaking of the times when something, an issue or an event, causes me some conflicting emotional pain -- and I sorely need to release it with an all-out crying 'jag.' Somehow, I always feel so much better afterwards.:) But, I, like you need to be alone during these times.

  Thanks for making this a "Page 1" thread again!

  Just last night I was checking the list of CRIMINAL sex-offenders in our area.
  And, I came across two that live within a two-block area of the street where my sweet nine-year-old granddaughter lives. You can bet I e-mailed my daughter with the information pronto!!

  One of them lives directly across from a public park/playground where children play unattended...the playground is visible from my daughter's backyard!

  I found the area sex-offender list via a link on one of the local TV channel's
  site. That took me to a listing of all surrounding counties and their 'lists.'
  The actual site where I found this info was the county Sheriff's Office. I am sure there are other ways to access these sites; and, I am going to check.

  I suggest all posters check this out - you might be surprised at who, or
  WHAT, is living nearby!

  The Long Goodbye......

  after a transatlantic discussion with my wife we have both reached the conclusion that we will not be posting to this board again.

  though we see the board as serving a useful purpose for some, it does not at present suit the path that we have chosen to walk to extract ourselves from the wts.. this board is in an invaluable place for those of you who have recently left the wts and need a place to stretch your wings and share you hurt and pain.

  but once we learn to fly, it seems important that we should leave the nest as quickly as possible, lest we become caught in a vacuum between the wts and real life.

  I'm sorry that your initial welcome here was so hostile. I think many of us are in 'different places' after leaving, or being kicked out of the WTBTS.

  My husband, larc, sent you an e-mail, and I also hope you will keep in touch. Maybe, down the road, you could check in again, let us all know how you and your wife are doing?? I, personally, thought you had a 'voice of reasoning' to your posts. Not too many of us disengaged from the organization overnight. The journey 'out' can often be a twisted path...and at the end we may well find ourselves in different
  'houses.' It's just my opinion, but I think you appear to be the sort of man who will find just what you are seeking. Wishing you a safe and happy journey. Zazu
